Seven Methods, One Discourse
Sudden carbuncle affecting the five fingers, with urgent stiffness preventing flexion and extension: moxa several burns at the tip of the ankle, or up to one hundred burns.
For sudden onset of lumbar swelling, deep-seated bone abscess (Attaching-Bone Swelling), carbuncles, furuncles, wind-type sores, and wandering toxic heat swelling: for these various diseases, as soon as any abnormal sensation is felt initially, apply moxibustion immediately for instant cure. If the swelling has already formed, moxibustion is not required; instead, moxa five burns at the point between the two tendons posterior to the first transverse crease of the palm (Daling PC7). Afflictions on the left are treated by moxaing the right, and vice versa; for afflictions in the chest and heart region, moxa both hands simultaneously.
For a carbuncle on the left side, moxa the front of the left elbow crease when the arm is bent. Measure three finger-widths outward from the elbow on the arm and moxa that spot. Between the two tendons, move from the non-painful area toward the painful area; if the swelling is on the right, moxa the right side. Recovery occurs within three to four days.
Furthermore, moxa the five points along the posterior wrist crease. For males, moxa the left hand; for females, the right hand. Seven burns per point yield verified results; this method has been previously used with efficacy.
Discourse states: There are many moxibustion methods for treating carbuncles, yet this particular method is highly effective, yielding unexpected results.
Urticaria (Itchy Rash): Moxa Quchi (LI11) bilaterally, with the number of burns corresponding to the patient's age. This is divine and excellent.
Headache and Urticaria: Moxa Tianchuang (SI16) seven burns.
Vitiligo, White Leukoderma, Spreading Eczema, and Oozing Ulcers extending to the head and chest: Moxa the midpoint between the two nipples, with the number of burns corresponding to the patient's age. Instant recovery follows.
Eighteen Methods
Acupuncture for Fistula:
Shaohai (HT3) is located at the medial end of the transverse cubital crease on the medial side of the arm. Find it by flexing the hand toward the head. It governs axillary scrofula, fistulas, arm pain, inability to flex and extend, wind-bi, itching, and fistulous tracts. Insert needle 0.3 cun, retain for seven respiratory cycles, and employ the reducing method during five inhalations.
Acupuncture for Scrofula: First, rest the needle tip on the skin for thirty-six respiratory cycles, then push the needle inward. Track the size of the nodule without penetrating it completely. Perform lifting and thrusting three times upward and three times downward, then withdraw the needle.
Moxibustion for Fistula:
Cervical fistula: Moxa Tianchi (PC1) one hundred burns. The point is located one cun posterior to the nipple, where the armpit meets the rib cage, found by adducting the arm and flexing the ribs.
Furthermore, moxa seven burns at the vertical meridian behind the hairline of both ears.
Furthermore, moxa the ends of the transverse creases posterior to the armpits on both sides of the back, with burns corresponding to the patient's age.
Furthermore, moxa seventy burns in the depression below Xinweijian (CV15).
Furthermore, moxa one hundred burns in the depressions within the inner thighs where the pathology exists.
Furthermore, moxa Zhangmen (LR13), Zulinqi (GB41), Zhigou (TE6), and Yangfu (GB38), each one hundred burns.
Furthermore, arrange moxa cones around the perimeter of the lesion and moxa seven burns, then stop.
Furthermore, moxa Jianjing (GB21), with burns corresponding to the patient's age (up to two hundred burns).
For all malignant fistulas, cold invasion, and prolapsed polyps: moxa three burns above each medial malleolus. For cases lasting two years, moxa six burns.
Acupuncture for Hemorrhoids:
Changqiang (GV1) is located in the depression at the lower end of the coccyx. It governs lower jiao leakage, five types of hemorrhoids, and pedunculated worms eating the lower orifices. Insert needle 3 cun deep while the patient is in a prone position. The depth is determined by severe pain. Moxibustion is also beneficial but inferior to acupuncture. If moxa, apply thirty burns daily for seven days. Strictly abstain from sexual intercourse.
Acupuncture for the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian point: Located one *Fu* distance above the medial malleolus, also known as Er-Yin-Jiao. It also governs difficulty in defecation. Insert needle 0.3 cun.
Feiyang (BL58), Shangqiu (SP5), Fuliou (KI7), Laogong (PC8), Huiyin (CV1), Chengjin (BL57), Fucheng (BL59), Weiyang (BL39), and Weizhong (BL40) all govern these conditions.
Moxibustion for Intestinal Abscess:
Flex both elbows to find the bony tips pointing toward the fingertips. Moxa one hundred burns at each tip. Those who discharge pus and blood will be cured.
Moxibustion for Mammary Abscess and Breast Lumps:
Moxa Yuji (LU10) on both hands, fourteen burns each, to sever the pulse of the abscess.
Furthermore, measure the width of the mouth horizontally with a string. From the nipple, measure upward using this length. Moxa fourteen burns at the endpoint of this measurement.
If a finger suddenly twitches with unbearable pain, moxa seven burns at the tip of the affected finger.
