[Six Formulas, One Discussion]
Xianfang Ningling Gao (Immortal Formula Coagulated Spirit Ointment):
Poria (36 jin), Pinus resin (24 jin), Pine kernel (12 jin), Platycladi Semen (12 jin).
The above four ingredients are refined, pounded, and sifted. Two dan and four dou of white honey are placed in a copper vessel and gently boiled for one day and one night. The drugs are added sequentially, stirred to ensure uniform mixture, and kept on gentle fire for seven days and seven nights before stopping. It can be formed into pills the size of small dates. Take seven pills each time, three times daily. If one wishes to abstain from grains, take enough at once to feel full; then there will be no hunger, the body will feel light, vision clear, the elderly will regain youthfulness, and immortality may be achieved in twelve years.
Chujing San Formula:
Poria (36 jin), Pinus resin (24 jin), Stalactite (1 jin).
The above three ingredients are ground into powder. Five dou of white honey is used to mix them thoroughly. Place in a container, seal the mouth tightly, and dry in the shade for one hundred days. Take out and re-grind into fine powder. Take one fangcun bi (square-inch spoonful) per dose, three times daily. This preparation is excellent, unlike other medicines.
Discussion states: Whenever one intends to take major elixirs (Da Yao), one should first take this ointment and powder, and only then take the major elixirs.
Wujing Jiu (Five Essence Wine) treats myriad diseases, turns white hair black, and causes fallen teeth to regrow. Formula:
Polygonati Rhizoma (Huangjing, 4 jin), Asparagi Radix (Tianmendong, 3 jin), Pinus needle (Songye, 6 jin), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu, 4 jin), Lycii Fructus (Gouqi, 5 jin).
The above five ingredients must be fresh. Place in a gold pot, add three shi of water, and boil for one day. Remove the dregs. Use the juice to soak yeast, following the method of home brewing. When the wine is ready, take the clear liquid and drink as desired. One batch ensures longevity.
Baizhu Jiu Formula:
Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu, 25 jin).
Cut the Baizhu into pieces. Soak in two dan and five dou of flowing water from the east in a non-porous vessel for twenty days. Remove the dregs and pour the juice into a large basin. At night, when a shooting star passes, write one's own name and place it in the basin. Repeat this for five consecutive nights. The juice will turn blood-red. Use this juice to soak yeast, following the method of home brewing. When the wine is ready, take the clear liquid and drink as desired. After ten days, myriad diseases are eliminated; after one hundred days, white hair turns black, fallen teeth regrow, and the face becomes lustrous. Long-term use ensures longevity.
Gouqi Jiu Formula:
Lycii Radix et Cortex (Gouqigen, 100 jin).
Cut the Gouqigen. Boil in four shi of flowing water from the east for one day and one night. Remove the dregs to obtain one shi of juice. Use this juice to soak yeast and brew, following the method of home brewing. When the wine is ready, take the clear liquid and place it in a non-porous vessel. Add the following:
Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (Sheng Dihuang) powder (1 sheng), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guixin) powder (1 sheng), Zingiberis Rhizoma Siccum (Ganjiang) powder (1 sheng), Phytolaccae Radix (Shanglu) powder (1 sheng), Alismatis Rhizoma (Zexie) powder (1 sheng), Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (Jiao) powder (1 sheng).
The above six ingredients are placed in a silk bag, submerged in the wine, sealed tightly, and buried three chi deep in the ground, covered firmly for twenty days. After bathing and dressing neatly, bow twice to the Immortals, then open the vessel. The wine should appear red like gold. In the early morning, on an empty stomach, take half sheng as a dose. After ten days, all diseases heal; after twenty days, scars disappear. For those suffering from severe diseases, mix one sheng of water with half sheng of wine, divide into five doses, and take. Recovery follows immediately. If one wishes to consume "stone" (mineral food/alchemy term), take two sheng of green-white stones from rivers, similar in size to date pits or apricot kernels. Boil these in three sheng of water for one boil. Add half he of this wine to the center. They will cook and become edible shortly.
Lingfei San Formula:
Muscovite powder (Yunmu fen, 1 jin), Poria (8 liang), Stalactite (7 liang), Platycladi Semen (Bairen, 7 liang), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guixin, 7 liang), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 7 liang), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu, 4 liang), Dipsaci Radix (Xuduan, 7 liang), Chrysanthemi Flos (Juhua, 15 liang), Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (Dihuang, 12 liang).
The above ten ingredients are pounded and sifted. Mix with the juice extracted from nineteen jin of fresh Asparagi Radix (Tianmendong). Steam this mixture in a copper vessel along with one dan and two dou of millet. Take out, dry in the sun, pound, and sift. Take one fangcun bi before meals, once daily. After three days, potency doubles; after five days, blood vessels become robust; after seven days, the body feels light; after ten days, the complexion is radiant; after fifteen days, walking speed matches that of a galloping horse; after thirty days, one can see light at night; after seventy days, all hair falls out, and old teeth are shed. Take another twenty fangcun bi of the powder, mix with white honey, pound two hundred times, and form pills the size of wutong seeds. Make eighty-one pills in total, which should be transparent like crystal beads. To promote the regrowth of hair and teeth, take seven pills daily; they will grow within three days. If hair has not turned white or fallen out, continue taking the powder as described previously. If hair has already turned white, it will fall out after seven years of taking the medicine. When entering mountains, take seven pills daily to abstain from grains without feeling hungry.
