In cases of *Lai* disease (a stubborn skin disorder), the patient's voice is hoarse, vision is blurred, limbs are numb and stiff, joints feel hot and painful, and hidden rashes appear on the body and extremities. Often, white spots manifest deep within the flesh. Nasal polyps may grow, and a white membrane may form over the eyes, obscuring the pupils and causing blindness. This condition is named "White Lai." Treatment involves: *Kushen* (Radix Sophorae Flavescentis) 5 sheng, *Lufengfang* (Nidus Vespae, roasted) 5 liang, [unspecified] skin (roasted) 1 piece, and *Qu* (Medicated Leaven) 3 jin. Soak these ingredients in 3 dou 5 he of water for four nights, then filter out the dregs. Cook 2 dou of rice and ferment it into wine using standard methods. After the wine is ready, drink 3 to 5 he after meals, gradually increasing the dosage until therapeutic effects are observed.
Dry dog feces (preferably those whitened by frost). Burn them to ash while preserving their medicinal properties, grind into a fine powder, and apply mixed with sesame oil to the affected area. It will heal after several applications. This prescription is remarkably effective, surpassing other remedies.
Boil 1 sheng of summer silkworm excrement in water, filter out the residue, and bathe the entire body; the rashes will naturally recede. For internal use: Grind *Baizhu* (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) into powder, take one spoonful with wine, twice daily. Avoid exposure to wind.
Decoct *Shengma* (Rhizoma Cimicifugae) for oral administration and wash the affected area; this leads to self-healing. Alternatively, mix equal parts of *Lvdou Fen* (Powder of Mung Bean) and *Ge Fen* (Powder of Clam Shell), each 2 liang, with 1 liang of *Huashi* (Talcum), and sprinkle the mixture evenly. This is also effective.
Mash fresh chive leaves and apply as a poultice. Or, quickly boil mustard greens in water to make a decoction for washing the affected area; this is also effective.
Take 1 jin of dried lotus leaves, add 1 dou of water, and boil down to 5 sheng. Use this liquid to wash the sores twice daily until recovery.
*Mituoseng* (Lead Monoxide) 1 liang, *Shu Shigao* (Prepared Gypsum Fibrosum) and *Ku Fan* (Alumen Calcined) each 2 qian, *Qingfen* (Calomel) 1 qian. Grind all ingredients together into a fine powder. If the wound is moist, apply dry powder; if dry, mix with tung oil and apply.
*Huandan* (Red Lead) 3 qian, *Huaruishí* (Flower Ore Stone) 1 qian. Grind finely and sprinkle onto the wound to stop bleeding immediately.

Take roots and leaves of hemp (*Dama Gen Ye*), regardless of quantity, crush them to extract juice, and drink 1 xiao sheng. If fresh green plants are unavailable, boil dried hemp roots to extract juice and consume it. For external treatment: Take one yellow dog skull, remove fur and skin with hot water, calcine over charcoal fire, remove soil, and grind into fine powder. Similarly, calcine oyster shell (*Muli*) over charcoal fire. When applying, mix 5 qian of dog bone powder with 3 qian of oyster shell powder and 2 qian of *Guangui* (Cortex Cinnamomi). Spread glutinous rice porridge on silk fabric, sprinkle the medicine onto the porridge, and wrap the injured area. For severe fractures, secure the area with bamboo splints above the dressing. A sensation of itching may occur shortly after; do not scratch. Gently wipe with a handkerchief. Recovery occurs within one to three days.
