本症之状，目红肿如含桃，泪出不止，酸痛羞明，夜眠多眵。治用∶
黄连一钱 红椒七粒 白矾三分 荆芥五分 生姜一片
水煎半碗，乘热洗之。日凡七次，明日即愈。
患者目红肿而痛，状如针刺，眵多泪多。治用∶
柴胡 栀子 白蒺藜各三钱 半夏 甘草各一钱
水煎服一剂，即可奏功。
决明子一升 石膏（研） 升麻各四两 栀子仁一升 地肤子 茺蔚子各一两 苦竹叶
干蓝叶各一升 芒硝二两 车前草汁一升二合 麦冬三升
上以水二斗，煮竹叶取七升二合，去滓纳诸药，煮取四升，分为四服。每服相去可两食
间，再服为度。小儿减药，以意裁之。
蕤仁 黄芩 栀子仁 黄连 秦皮各二两 竹叶一升
上以水五升，煮取一升六合，分三服。外用∶
淡竹叶五合 黄连四枚 青钱二十文 大枣二十枚（去皮核） 栀子仁七枚 车前草五
合上以水四升，煮取二升，日洗眼六、七次，极效。
黄连 秦皮各三两
上以水三升，煮取一升五合，去滓，食后温服，分二次，如人行七、八里。
胡粉六分 蕤仁四分
先研蕤仁使碎，纳胡粉中，更热研。又捣生麻子为烛，燃使着，别取猪脂肪于烛焰上烧
使脂流下，滴入蕤仁、胡粉中。更研搅使均如饧，以绵缠细杖子，纳药内。承软点眼两 ，
药须臾冷，还于麻烛上烧而用之。
The symptoms of this condition include: the eyes are red and swollen as if containing a peach, with continuous tearing, soreness and pain, photophobia (sensitivity to light), and increased ocular discharge (discharge from the eye) during sleep at night. Treatment uses:
Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian) 1 qian, Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (Hongjiao) 7 grains, Alumen (Baijian) 3 fen, Schizonepetae Herba (Jingjie) 5 fen, Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang) 1 slice.
Decoct in water until half a bowl remains. Wash the eyes while hot. Perform this seven times a day; recovery is expected by the next day.
For patients with red, swollen, and painful eyes feeling like needle pricks, accompanied by excessive ocular discharge and tearing. Treatment uses:
Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhizi), Tribuli Fructus (Bajili) each 3 qian; Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) each 1 qian.
Decoct in water and take one dose; efficacy can be achieved immediately.
Cassiae Semen (Juemingzi) 1 sheng, Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao, crushed), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma) each 4 liang; Gardeniae Semen (Zhiziren) 1 sheng; Kochiae Spina (Difuzi), Leonuri Fructus (Chongweizi) each 1 liang; Bitter Bamboo Leaves (Kuzhuye), Dried Isatidis Folium (Ganlan Ye) each 1 sheng; Mirabilite (Mangxiao) 2 liang; Plantaginis Herba Juice (Cheqian Cao Zhi) 1 sheng 2 he; Ophiopogonis Tuber (Maidong) 3 sheng.
Take the above ingredients with two dou of water. First decoct the bamboo leaves to obtain 7 sheng 2 he of liquid. Remove the dregs, add the remaining herbs, and decoct again to obtain 4 sheng of liquid. Divide into four doses. The interval between each dose should be approximately the time it takes to eat two meals. A second round of dosing is the limit. Reduce dosage for children according to discretion.
Prunus Armeniaca Seed (Ruren), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Gardeniae Semen (Zhiziren), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Fraxini Cortex (Qinpi) each 2 liang; Bamboo Leaves (Zhuye) 1 sheng.
Decoct the above with five sheng of water to obtain 1 sheng 6 he of liquid. Divide into three doses. External use formula:
Light Bamboo Leaves (Dan Zhuye) 5 he; Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian) 4 pieces; Twenty copper coins (Qingqian); Twenty Jujubae Fructus (Dazao, peeled and pitted); Gardeniae Semen (Zhiziren) 7 pieces; Plantaginis Herba (Cheqian Cao) 5 he.
Decoct the above with four sheng of water to obtain two sheng of liquid. Wash the eyes six or seven times daily; this is extremely effective.
Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Fraxini Cortex (Qinpi) each 3 liang.
Decoct the above with three sheng of water to obtain 1 sheng 5 he of liquid. Remove dregs. Take warm after meals, divided into two doses. The interval between doses should be equivalent to the time taken to walk seven or eight li.
Cerussa (Hufen) 6 fen; Prunus Armeniaca Seed (Ruren) 4 fen.
First grind Ruren until broken, mix with Hufen, and heat-grind again. Separately, crush fresh Cannabis Fructus (Sheng Maziren) to make a candle, ignite it, and burn pig fat over the flame so that the fat drips down into the mixture of Ruren and Hufen. Grind and stir again until uniform like syrup. Wrap cotton around a thin stick, dip into the medicine. When the medicine softens, apply to the eyes. When the medicine cools slightly, return it to the hemp candle to heat before reuse.
