Place in a porcelain container, seal tightly to prevent leakage of air. Before taking the medicine, one should fast on the preceding day. On the next day, eat delicious food until fully satiated, then fast again. Immediately take two liang (approx. 60 g) of the powder. Over twenty days, accumulate to four liang. [Preparation Method]
On the eighth day of the second lunar month, select thick, white Acorus tatarinowii rhizome (Changpu) where the internodal space can accommodate a finger. Dry it in the shade and remove the fuzz and root distance. Choose an auspicious day to pound and sieve. One liang (approx. 30 g) constitutes one dose. Mix four parts of the herb powder with one and a half parts of honey and butter until it forms a soft, thick porridge-like consistency, ensuring extreme uniformity. Place in a porcelain container, seal the mouth tightly, and bury it in a grain pile for one hundred days. To take this medicine, first administer a purgative or emetic. After vomiting and diarrhea cease, choose an auspicious day (Wangxiang day) at dawn on an empty stomach. Take one liang, hold it in the mouth and swallow slowly. For those with strong constitution, gradually increase to two or three liang. Between Chen (7-9 AM) and Si (9-11 AM) hours, after the medicine has dissolved, one may consume rice gruel and milk, but no other food. If thirsty, drink a small amount of hot water. Take once daily. Avoid mutton and cooked Malva verticillata (Shukui) for life.
