Passing pus and blood in urine or stool indicates Small Intestine Leakage (Xiaochang Xie). If the pulse is rapid (more than five beats per breath) and surging (Hong Da), Qixuan Wan (Seven Promoting Pills) is appropriate. If the pulse is harmonious, from Start of Autumn to Spring Equinox, Xianglian Wan (Fragrant Coptis Pills) is appropriate; from Spring Equinox to Start of Autumn, Shaoyao Bapi Wan (Peony and Phellodendron Bark Pills) is appropriate. Throughout the four seasons, Jiajian Pingwei San (Modified Stomach-Pacifying Powder) is appropriate. Even if the syndrome matches that of Qixuan Wan, this medicine should also be taken to eliminate residual pathogens and harmonize Stomach Qi.
[Shaoyao Bapi Wan]
Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba), Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis) [equal parts].

[Jiajian Pingwei San] The Classics state: "The Stomach Qi is the foundation for all four seasons." Chronic bloody diarrhea damages the Spleen and Stomach, causing blood to fail flowing to the four limbs and instead entering the Stomach, resulting in bloody dysentery. This formula is suitable to nourish the Spleen and Stomach.
