To treat various bone splinters stuck in the throat, pound the root of *Boehmeria nivea* (Ramie Root) into a paste and form pills the size of a bullet. Use the decoction made from the food that caused the obstruction to dissolve the pill before swallowing.
Another prescription: For fish bones stuck in the throat, mix equal parts of fine tea (*Camellia sinensis*) and Chinese gall (*Galla Chinensis*), grind them into powder, and blow it into the pharynx for immediate relief.
Yet another method: Suspend a dog by one leg to collect its saliva, then slowly swallow the saliva; the obstruction will disappear.
Another method: Pound the root of *Magnolia biondii* (White Magnolia Flower Root) to extract the juice, swallow it slowly, ensuring it does not touch the teeth.
To treat rice awns, chaff, or grains stuck in the throat, suspend a goose by one leg to collect its saliva, then slowly swallow it; the obstruction will disappear.
To treat the ingestion of nails, iron objects, gold, silver, copper coins, etc., consume large amounts of fat beef tallow and other fatty meats; these objects will be discharged with the stool.
Another method: For ingested coins, burn charcoal to ash, mix with warm water, and ingest several spoonfuls to expel the coin. Alternatively, ingest approximately one sheng of honey. Or consume arrowhead corms (*Cyperus esculentus*), which may dissolve the coin.
To treat hair tangled around the throat that cannot be expelled, burn human hair to ash, mix with warm water, and ingest one qian.
To treat the ingestion of iron objects or needles, boil half a jin of maltose syrup until thick, mix with mugwort juice, and take orally.
Another method: Grind magnetite (*Magnetitum*) to the size of a jujube pit, drill a hole, thread it, and have the patient swallow it into the throat; the needle will be drawn out. If coins, gold, silver, copper, or iron are swallowed, the magnetite must be one verified as effective by Yin-Yang practitioners.
Zihe said: Generally, for fish bones, wheat awns, bamboo or wood splinters stuck in the throat, or hair causing obstruction preventing swallowing, use an incantation from the *Daozang Jing*: Take one bowl of "rootless water" from the east. First, form the Santai mudra with the left hand, place the water above the mudra. Then, hold a sword with the right hand in a specific seal over the water, and mentally write the character "Dragon" (Long). Recite the secret incantation nine times: "I come from the east, by the roadside is a pool of water, in the water is a dragon, with nine heads and eighteen tails. Ask you what this treats, specifically using this water." Recite continuously nine times, then have the patient drink it for immediate cure.
To treat accidental ingestion of leeches, consuming honey cures the condition. This was tested by placing a live leech in honey, where it immediately dissolved into water, a result verified repeatedly. Another book states: Leeches born in wells can be eliminated by introducing white horse bone; this has also been verified. The leech, also known as the medicinal leech (*Hirudo nipponica*), even when dead and powdered, revives upon contact with water. Ingestion by humans causes significant harm; the treatment follows the methods described above.
