治百虫入耳，用盐汁灌之，或葱汁尤良，或猪肉少许，炙香置耳孔边亦出；或用细芦管

清胃散

独活散
治风毒牙痛，或牙龈肿痛。

谦甫加减泻白散

八味丸
治肾气虚寒，牙齿作痛，面色黧黑，精神憔瘦，脚膝无力，饮食少思；或痰气上升，小便频
数，齿不坚固；或口舌糜烂，畏饮冷水。即后方每料加肉桂、附子各一两。
六味丸（加五味、肉桂，各一两，名加减八味丸）
治肾经虚热，齿不固密，或作疼痛，或发热渴淋，痰气壅嗽，头晕眼花，咽燥唇裂，腰
腿痿软，自汗盗汗，便血诸血失暗，水泛为痰之圣药，血虚发热之神剂。
熟地黄（八两，作膏） 山茱萸肉 干山药（各四两） 牡丹皮 泽泻（各三两） 茯苓（四
两） 上为末，入地黄炼蜜丸，桐子大。每服七八十丸，空心食前滚汤下，地黄须自制。
滋肾丸
治肾经阴虚，齿痛或苏蚀色黑，日晡发热，脚膝无力，小便不利，肚腹胀满（详见《内
知母 黄柏（各酒炒，二两） 肉桂（二钱） 上为末，水丸桐子大。每服二百丸，空心白滚汤下。
清心莲子饮
治口舌生疮，烦躁作渴，小便赤涩，口干便浊，夜间安静，昼则举发，此热在血分。

还少丹

羌活附子汤
治冬月大寒犯脑，令人脑齿连痛，名曰脑风，为害甚速，非此莫能救。

越鞠丸
治六郁牙齿痛口疮，或胸满吐酸，饮食少思。
苍术（炒） 神曲（炒） 香附子 山查 山栀（炒） 抚芎 麦芽（炒，各等分） 上为末，
水调神曲糊丸，桐子大。每服五七十丸，滚汤下。
四物汤（加牡丹皮、柴胡、山栀名加味四物汤）
治血虚发热，口舌生疮，或牙龈肿溃，或日晡发热，烦躁不安，或因怒而致。
当归 熟地黄（各三钱） 芍药 川药（各二钱） 上水煎服。
当归补血汤
治口舌生疮，血气俱虚，热渴引饮，目赤面红，其脉洪大而虚，重按全无。

元戎四物二连汤
治血虚发热，口舌生疮，或昼寒夜热。

治阴虚内热盗汗。

逍遥散

治肝脾有火血虚，即前方加山栀、丹皮。
谦甫解毒雄黄丸
治缠喉风肿闭，或卒倒死，牙关紧急。
雄黄（一钱） 郁金（一分） 巴豆（十四粒，去油皮） 上为末，醋糊丸，绿豆大，用热茶
送下七丸，吐顽痰立苏，未吐再服，若死而心头犹热，灌下更生。
谦甫龙麝聚圣丹
治心脾客热，咽喉肿痛，或成痈不消，或舌本肿胀，口舌生疮。

拔萃桔梗汤
治热肿喉痹。
桔梗 甘草 连翘 山栀 薄荷 黄芩（各一钱） 上入竹叶水煎服。
无择玉屑无忧散
治喉风痰壅，或口舌生疮，或骨鲠不下。
玄参 管仲 滑石 宿砂仁 黄连 甘草 茯苓 山豆根 荆芥穗（各五钱） 寒水石（
煨） 硼砂（各三钱） 上为末，每服一钱，清水调下，此药又去邪辟瘟止渴。
甘桔汤
治咽喉肿痛。
甘草（六钱） 苦梗（三钱） 上水煎服。
白虎汤
治胃热作渴，暑热尤效。
知母 石膏（各二钱） 粳米（半合） 上水煎服。
调胃承气汤
治中热，大便不通，咽喉肿痛，或口舌生疮。
大黄（一两） 甘草（一钱五分） 芒硝（四钱五分） 上每服五七钱，水煎。
桃仁承气汤（加当归一钱，名当归承气汤）
治瘀血停滞，腹内作痛，或发热发狂，大便秘结。
To treat various insects entering the ear canal, pour salt juice into the ear, or green onion juice is even better; or use a small amount of pork, roast until fragrant and place it by the ear hole, the insect will also come out; or insert a fine reed tube into the ear, suck with the mouth, and the insect will come out along with it.
If a slug enters the ear, apply a little salt inside the ear, and it will turn into water.
If a centipede enters the ear, place chicken meat by the ear, and it will crawl out on its own. For any insect poison entering the abdomen causing distension, drink about two sheng (approx. 400ml) of good quality yogurt/cheese whey, the insect will turn into water, and the poison will also dissipate.
If a snake enters the seven orifices, split the snake's tail, insert several grains of Sichuan pepper, seal it with paper, and the snake will come out on its own. Then decoct and drink Ginseng Decoction, or drink alcohol and eat garlic.
To treat axillary odor, at the fifth watch (around 1-3 AM), use two large slices of lean pork, mix with one qian (approx. 3.7g) of Kansui powder, clamp under the armpit until dawn. Then decoct raw Licorice Root in water and drink it. After a while, foul matter will be discharged. This must be done in a desolate area outside to avoid the foul qi entering the body. Following this method three to five times will lead to recovery. For those who are weak, do it every other day. Other substances like Pyromorphite or Lead White Powder merely block the orifices to treat the symptoms superficially.
Qingwei San (Clear Stomach Powder)
Treats lip fissures caused by stomach fire and blood dryness, or callous lips, or gum ulceration and pain.
Coptis Rhizoma (Stir-fried), Rehmannia Radix, Cimicifugae Rhizoma (each 1 qian), Moutan Cortex (8 fen), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (3 qian 2 fen). Decoct in water and take orally.
Jiawei Qingwei San (Modified Clear Stomach Powder)
Same as the above formula plus Paeoniae Radix Alba and Bupleuri Radix, treating heat in the Spleen, Stomach, Liver, and Gallbladder meridians.
Chaihu Qinggan San (Bupleurum Liver-Clearing Powder)
Treats liver fire, wind-heat transmitting to the Spleen, causing lip swelling and fissures, or callous lips.
Bupleuri Radix, Scutellariae Radix (Stir-fried, each 1 qian), Coptidis Rhizoma (Stir-fried), Gardeniae Fructus (Stir-fried, each 7 fen), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (1 qian), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma (6 fen), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (1 qian), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (8 fen), Moutan Cortex (1 qian), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (3 fen). Decoct in water and take orally. If the Spleen and Stomach are weak, remove Scutellariae Radix and Coptidis Rhizoma, and add Jiyin Dihuang Wan.
Jiyin Dihuang Wan (Nourishing Yin Pill of Earth)
Treats yin deficiency with fire dryness, causing lip fissures resembling calluses.
Schisandrae Fructus, Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (homemade paste), Ophiopogonis Radix, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Cistanches Herba, Corni Fructus (pitted), Lycii Fructus, Dioscoreae Rhizoma.
Guipi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction) (Also known as Jisheng Guipi Tang)
Treats excessive worry injuring the Spleen Qi, blood consumption causing lip wrinkles, and sores from Qi stagnation, throat discomfort, fever, bloody stool, night sweats, and afternoon tidal fever.
Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (each 3 fen), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Poria, Astragali Radix (Stir-fried), Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Dimocarpus Longan Arillus, Polygalae Radix, Ziziphi Spinosomi Semen (Stir-fried). Decoct in water and take orally.
Jiawei Guipi Tang (Modified Restore the Spleen Decoction)
Same as the above formula plus Bupleuri Radix, Moutan Cortex, and Gardeniae Fructus, treating spleen fire stirred by worry, damage to Yuan Qi, fatigue with fever, loss of appetite, bleeding, and toothache.
Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction)
Treats damage to Middle Qi, sores in lips and mouth, or toothache, aversion to cold and fever, limb fatigue, less food intake with spontaneous sweating, or headache with body heat, irritability with thirst, panting with a large but empty pulse, or a faint, thin, and weak pulse.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Astragali Radix (Stir-fried), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (each 1 qian 5 fen), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (each 1 qian), Bupleuri Radix, Cimicifugae Rhizoma (each 5 fen). Decoct in water and take orally.
Qianghuo San (Notopterygii Powder)
Treats wind-heat transmitting to the Spleen, causing wrinkling of lips and mouth, or headache and dizziness, or edema of four limbs resembling wind-stroke.
Notopterygii Rhizoma, Poria, Coicis Semen (equal parts). Take 3-5 qian per dose, decoct in water, add one spoonful of Bamboo Sap and take.
Renshen Lizhong Tang (Ginseng Regulate the Middle Decoction)
Treats sores in mouth and tongue, reduced desire for food, loose stools, or aversion to cold and fear of heat, vomiting and abdominal fullness. This is due to insufficient Middle Qi and defluxion of deficient fire.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparata (Pao), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi, equal parts). Take 5-7 qian or 1 liang per dose, decoct in water and take orally.
Fuzi Lizhong Tang (Aconite Regulate the Middle Decoction)
Symptoms same as above, but accompanied by cold reversal of four limbs, or vomiting and diarrhea.
Poria, Paeoniae Radix Alba (each 2 qian), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (each 2 qian), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (4 qian). Decoct in water and take orally.
Xiangsha Liujunzi Tang (Aucklandia and Amomum Six Gentlemen Decoction)
Treats sores in mouth and tongue, caused by excessive intake of cooling medicines leading to reduced food intake and vomiting, or due to Middle Qi deficiency heat.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Poria, Pinelliae Rhizoma, Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (each 1 qian), Agastaches Herba (8 fen), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Stir-fried, 6 fen), Amomi Fructus Rotundus (Stir-fried). Decoct in water and take orally.
Renshen Anwei San (Ginseng Calm the Stomach Powder)
Treats deficiency heat in the Stomach meridian, sores in mouth and tongue, preferring hot drinks.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Poria (each 1 qian), Scutellariae Radix (2 qian), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (each 5 fen), Coptidis Rhizoma (3 fen), Paeoniae Radix (1 qian). Decoct in water and take orally.
Qiwei Baizhu San (Seven-Ingredient Atractylodes Macrocephala Powder)
Treats deficiency heat, sores in mouth and tongue, dislike for cold drinks, vomiting/diarrhea with dry mouth.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, Poria, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi), Agastaches Herba (each 5 fen), Puerariae Radix (1 qian). Decoct in water and take orally.
Sijunzi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction)
Treats sores in mouth and tongue, Spleen and Stomach weakness, reduced desire for food, abdominal discomfort.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Poria (each 1 qian), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi, 5 fen). Decoct in water with Ginger and Jujube and take orally.
Liujunzi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction)
Treats Stomach Qi deficiency heat, sores in mouth and tongue, or reduced food intake and vomiting/diarrhea due to cold-cooling suppression.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Poria (each 1 qian 5 fen), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, Pinelliae Rhizoma, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (each 1 qian). Decoct in water with Ginger and Jujube and take orally.
Erchen Tang (Two Aged Decoction)
Treats Spleen and Stomach weakness, sores in mouth and tongue, or phlegm retention in Zhongwan, vomiting and nausea, reduced desire for food, etc.
Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, Poria, Pinelliae Rhizoma (each 1 qian 5 fen), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi, 5 fen). Decoct in water with Ginger and Jujube and take orally.
Ge Hua Jie Xing Tang (Kudzu Flower Relieving Intoxication Decoction)
Treats alcohol accumulation, sores in mouth and tongue, or vomiting and diarrhea.

Xiao Chaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction)
Treats wind-heat in Liver and Gallbladder meridians invading Spleen earth, causing lip and mouth swelling/pain, alternating chills and fever, afternoon fever, tidal fever, anger-induced fever with hypochondriac pain, severe cases with difficulty turning, hypochondriac fullness, or diarrhea/cough, or vomiting sour/bitter fluid.

Zhizi Qinggan San (Gardenia Liver-Clearing Powder)
Treats wind-heat in Triple Burner and Foot-Shaoyang meridian, sores in mouth and tongue, or ear itching, oozing pain, chest pain, or alternating chills and fever.

Treats all exterior syndromes, soreness of ulcers, chills and fever, or convulsive headache with a fine yet forceful pulse.

Treats throat closure or carbuncles, manifesting major toxicity, numbness, vomiting, or severe cases with coma. If carbuncle toxin causes lockjaw, take 3-5 pills ground into powder, mixed with water and灌ed down, having a life-saving effect.
Bufo Skin Secretion (Dry, dissolved in wine), Calomelas (each 5 fen), Alum (Calcined), Arsenolite (Calcined), Verdigris, Frankincense, Myrrh, Moschus (each ...), Cinnabaris (3 qian), Snail (20, separately ground, optional but effective). Grind into fine powder, form pills with snail juice or wine paste, size of mung beans. Take 1-2 pills per dose, wash down with warm wine or green onion soup.

Treats severe cold invading the brain, causing toothache.

Dongyuan Yaosun San (Dongyuan Strengthen Teeth Powder)
Treats exposed gum flesh, gingival caries swelling/pain, loose teeth wanting to fall out, slow tooth growth, yellow teeth with bad breath.

Xijiao Shengma Tang (Rhino Horn and Cimicifuga Decoction)
Treats Yangming meridian wind-heat toothache, or lip/cheek swelling/pain.
Rhinocerotis Cornu (sliced), Cimicifugae Rhizoma, Saposhnikoviae Radix, Notopterygii Rhizoma (each 1 qian), Typhonii Rhizoma (5 fen), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, Scutellariae Radix (each 7 fen), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (3 fen). Decoct in water until cooked, add Rhino Horn powder and take.
Xuanshen Shengma Tang (Scrophularia and Cimicifuga Decoction)
Treats Heart-Spleen congestion heat, sores in mouth and tongue, wooden tongue or double tongue, or cheek swelling/pain.

Scutellariae Radix, Coptidis Rhizoma, Phellodendri Cortex (equal parts). Grind into powder, make pills with water paste, size of paulownia seeds. Take 70-80 pills per dose, wash down with plain boiled water.
Anshen Wan (Calming Kidney Pill)
Treats kidney deficiency toothache and backache.
Psoraleae Fructus (Stir-fried), Toosendan Fructus Flesh (Stir-fried), Trichosanthes Fruit (Stir-fried), Foeniculum Fructus (Stir-fried), Dipsaci Radix (Stir-fried, each 2 liang), Persicae Semen, Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Stir-fried), Dioscoreae Rhizoma, Poria (each 2 liang). Grind into powder, make pills with honey, size of paulownia seeds. Take 50 pills per dose, wash down with salt water on an empty stomach.
Bawei Wan (Eight Ingredients Pill)
Treats kidney Qi deficiency cold, toothache, dark complexion, emaciation, weak knees/legs, reduced appetite; or rising phlegm-Qi, frequent urination, loose teeth; or mouth/tongue erosion, aversion to cold water. Add Cinnamon Bark and Aconite Lateralis Radix Preparata (each 1 liang) to the previous formula batch.
Liuwei Wan (Six Ingredients Pill) (Add Schisandrae Fructus and Cinnamon Bark, each 1 liang, named Jiawei Bawei Wan)
Treats kidney meridian deficiency heat, loose teeth, pain, fever/thirst/dysuria, phlegm-Qi congestion cough, dizziness/blurred vision, dry throat/lip fissures, weak waist/legs, spontaneous/night sweats, bloody stool/various bleeds, water overflowing as phlegm. It is the holy medicine for these conditions and a divine agent for blood deficiency fever.
Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (8 liang, made into paste), Corni Fructus, Dioscoreae Rhizoma Dry (each 4 liang), Moutan Cortex, Alismatis Rhizoma (each 3 liang), Poria (4 liang). Grind into powder, add Rehmannia paste and refined honey to make pills, size of paulownia seeds. Take 70-80 pills per dose, wash down with boiling water before meals on an empty stomach. Rehmannia must be homemade.
Zishen Wan (Nourishing Kidney Pill)
Treats kidney meridian yin deficiency, toothache or black erosion, afternoon fever, weak knees/legs, difficult urination, abdominal distension (see Internal Medicine).
Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, Phellodendri Cortex (each wine-stir-fried, 2 liang), Cinnamon Twig (2 qian). Grind into powder, make water pills size of paulownia seeds. Take 200 pills per dose, wash down with plain boiling water on an empty stomach.
Qingxin Lianzi Yin (Clear Heart Lotus Seed Drink)
Treats sores in mouth and tongue, irritability/thirst, red/scanty urine, dry mouth/turbid urine, quiet at night, active during day. This is heat in the Blood level.

Cistanches Herba, Polygalae Radix (heart removed), Foeniculum Fructus, Morinda Officinalis Radix (heart removed), Dioscoreae Rhizoma, Lycii Fructus, Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, Pogostemonis Rhizoma, Corni Fructus (pitted), Eucommiae Cortex (peeled, ginger-processed), Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, Celastrus Semen (Stir-fried), Schisandrae Fructus, Poria (equal parts). Grind into powder, make pills with date paste and honey, size of paulownia seeds. Take 70 pills per dose, wash down with warm wine three times daily.
Qianghuo Fuzi Tang (Notopterygium and Aconite Decoction)
Treats winter severe cold invading the brain, causing brain-tooth connected pain, named Brain Wind, harm is rapid, only this can save.

Yuanrong Siwu Erlian Tang (Yuanrong Four Substances Two Link Decoction)
Treats blood deficiency fever, sores in mouth/tongue, or chills by day/heat by night.

Treats excess fire, reckless blood movement, or hematemesis/epistaxis, or lower bleeding.
Rhinocerotis Cornu (sliced), Rehmanniae Radix Recens, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Scutellariae Radix, Moutan Cortex, Coptidis Rhizoma (each 1 qian). Decoct in water until cooked, add Rhino Horn powder and take.

Treats yin deficiency internal heat night sweats.

Qianfu Longshe Jusheng Dan (Qianfu Dragon Musk Gathering Sage Pill)
Treats Heart-Spleen guest heat, throat swelling/pain, or abscess not resolving, or tongue base swelling, sores in mouth/tongue.

Wuze Yuxie Wuyou San (Wuze Jade Dust Worry-Free Powder)
Treats throat wind phlegm congestion, or sores in mouth/tongue, or fish bone stuck.
Scrophulariae Radix, Phytolaccae Radix, Talcum, Amomi Fructus Rotundus, Coptidis Rhizoma, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Poria, Sophorae Radix, Schizonepetae Spica (each 5 qian), Arsenolite (roasted), Borax (each 3 qian). Grind into powder, take 1 qian per dose, mix with clear water and take. This medicine also dispels evil, wards off plague, and stops thirst.
Ganjie Tang (Licorice and Platycodon Decoction)
Treats throat swelling/pain.
