First method: Hook the big toe of the left foot with the right heel to dispel Wind-Bi (Wind obstruction syndrome); hook the big toe of the right foot with the left heel to dispuel Jue-Bi (obstruction syndrome of the extremities); then use both hands to alternately pull the dorsum of the feet up to the knees to dispel general body Bi.
Second method: Sit in a squatting position and straighten the waist, use both hands to pull the two heels, inhale through the nose until reaching the limit, for seven breaths, then extend the knees to dispel Bi.

The *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases) states: Lijie Feng (Joint Pain Syndrome resembling Tiger Bite) is caused by deficiency of Qi and Blood. It occurs when alcohol consumption opens the Couli (skin pores), and sweat is exposed to Wind. Alternatively, it results from improper care, allowing pathogenic factors of Cold, Wind, and Dampness to invade the joints, where they contend with Qi and Blood causing severe pain. The pain may feel like being bitten by a tiger, hence the name "White Tiger."
Lijie Feng is mostly caused by the invasion of Cold, Wind, and Dampness into the joints. However, it can also be caused by the flow and accumulation of Damp-Phlegm, characterized by pain that is worse at night and lighter during the day, indicating an excess of Cold-Wind. If pain is severe regardless of day or night, it indicates Damp-Phlegm. Those with excessive Phlegm-Dampness will have poor appetite and frequent vomiting.
When Cold-Wind contends with the sinews, flexion and extension become impossible, fingers curl, and joint pain is unbearable. Swelling may resemble a gourd, or pain may feel like pulling/twitching, or there may be generalized wandering itching, and inability to lift the limbs; these are all due to pathogenic factors of Cold, Wind, and Dampness. Treatment should employ Acrid-Warm methods to release the exterior and expel Cold-Wind, such as Qianghuo Tang (Notopterygium Decoction) or Yingxiao Jiu (Effective Wine). For cases of Damp-Phlegm stagnation with ceaseless day-and-night pain, treatment should focus on resolving Dampness and guiding out Phlegm, such as Erchen Tang (Two-Aged Decoction), Qianghuo Shengshi Tang (Notopterygium Decoction for Resolving Dampness), or Yufeng Huatan Wan (Wind-Dispelling Phlegm-Resolving Pill).
A floating and large pulse indicates excess of Cold-Wind pathogens; a string-taut and fine pulse indicates excess of Dampness; a slippery and abundant pulse indicates Phlegm.
