A woman suffered from a heat disease (Re Bing), staring at the wall and perceiving red lotus flowers covering it. The physician treated her with Gun Tan Wan (Rolling Phlegm Pill) via purgation, resulting in recovery.
A postpartum woman suddenly experienced shrinking of both breasts, which hung down severely and caused intense pain, a condition named "Ru Xuan" (Breast Suspension). She was prescribed Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong) and Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), each two jin. Half a jin was decocted in water for oral administration, while the remainder was burned to produce smoke for fumigating the mouth and nose. After two doses, she recovered.
Another postpartum woman expelled a fleshy cord from the vagina, over one chi in length; touching it caused excruciating pain. Initially, she took several doses of Shixiao San (Pain-Relieving Powder). Subsequently, three jin of ginger with skin were mashed, mixed with two jin of refined sesame oil, and boiled until the oil was dry. The fleshy cord was gathered with silk cloth, bent near the vaginal opening, and fumigated with the hot ginger-oil mixture; when cool, it was applied as a compress. After one day and night, the cord shrank by more than half, and within two days, it retracted completely. She then took Shixiao San and Xiong Gui Tang (Chuanxiong and Danggui Decoction) for regulation. If the fleshy cord had severed, it would have been incurable.
A patient with a suppurating carbuncle (Zhong Du) frequently expelled a small bone, a condition termed "Sheng Gu Yong" (Remaining Bone Carbuncle). It was treated with a paste made of raw Sesame Oil (Tong You) and Lithargite (Miduoseng), applied on silk gauze, leading to recovery.
During moxibustion reaching five zhu (units of moxa cone size), a stream of blood flowed out urgently, resembling urinary incontinence, accompanied by cold hands nearly approaching amputation. One or two qian of Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin) stir-fried with wine was powdered and taken with wine to stop the bleeding.
A person occasionally had maggots emerging from inside the scalp. The skin was incised with a knife, and juice from crushed Luffae Folium (Sigua Ye) was applied externally. Once the maggots were fully expelled, the root cause was eliminated.
For an infant with ulcerated chickenpox generating maggots, branches of Salix alba (Liu Tiao) with leaves were spread on the ground, and the infant was laid upon them. The maggots emerged entirely, and the infant recovered.
An Yuan Ju (Deep Abscess) developed under the ribcage. After a long duration, it ulcerated, emitting sounds like a baby crying from the orifice. Moxibustion applied to Yanglingquan (GB34) for fourteen zhu (two times seven) stopped the sound immediately.
There was a case of a worm in the abdomen that spoke like a human, responding to whatever words were spoken, known as "Ying Sheng Chong" (Echoing Sound Worm). When reading drug names from Ben Cao Gang Mu (Compendium of Materia Medica), it responded to all except "Lei Wan" (Omphalia Lapponica). Upon administering Lei Wan, the worm's voice ceased.
A person suffered unbearable pain in the finger joints, which gradually progressed to joint detachment. Two liang of Castor Seed (Bimazi) with shells removed (broken ones excluded) were used. Four liang of Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian) were stored in a bottle, soaked in two sheng of water. For spring and summer, soak for three days; for autumn and winter, five days. Every morning facing east, swallow one Castor Seed with this water, gradually increasing to four or five seeds. Mild diarrhea is harmless. Avoid foods that stir wind. This method has been verified repeatedly.
