The hundred vessels share a single origin, so the entire body is affected by the disease without distinct meridian patterns. This condition generally arises from deficiency and consumptive disorders after a major illness, where the zang-fu organs are imbalanced, leading to this pathology. The symptoms present as: seeming cold but not truly aversion to cold, seeming hot but not true fever; desiring food but unable to eat, desiring to lie down but unable to rest comfortably, desiring to walk but unable to move; resembling cold yet not cold, resembling heat yet not heat; silent and unaware of specific suffering, vomiting immediately upon taking medication, even experiencing hallucinations such as seeing ghosts, with dark red urine. This is called Baihe Bing (Lily Disease). It occurs because of improper care during the illness, leaving residual pathogens. If the pathogen is in the Yin aspect, attacking the Yang aspect is an error, using purgation in reverse; if the pathogen is in the Yang aspect, attacking the Yin aspect is an error, using diaphoresis in reverse. These constitute contraindicated treatments, preventing resolution and thus transforming into complex multi-symptom diseases.
[Harmonizing Method] Use Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) added with Baihe (Lily Bulb), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhena Rhizome), Jing Mi (Rice Grain), and Sheng Jiang (Fresh Ginger).
[Cooling Method] To cool blood and clear heat, use Baihe Zhi Mu Tang (Lily and Anemarrhena Decoction) or Baihe Dihuang Tang (Lily and Rehmannia Decoction).
[Bathing Method] If unresolved for one month and thirst develops, use one sheng of Baihe (Lily Bulb) soaked in ten dou of water overnight, then bathe the body with the warm liquid.
When a man recovers from a new illness and engages in sexual intercourse with a woman, it is called Yang Yi (Yang Exchange); when a woman recovers from a new illness and engages in sexual intercourse with a man, it is called Yin Yi (Yin Exchange). This occurs because the righteous qi is about to recover but is disturbed by the evil of lust, causing the exchange of yin and yang energies, hence termed "Exchange." The manifestations include: heavy body, deficient qi, colicky abdominal pain, inability to lift the head, inability to stand on legs, spasm and tightness of the four limbs, dissolution of all joints, heat rushing up to the chest, and visual disturbances like seeing flowers before the eyes. In men, there is swelling of the penis and stabbing pain inside the abdomen; in women, there is tenesmus and pain connecting the waist, hips, and abdomen. If the hands and feet are curled up and the pulse is off-meridian (abnormal), both are incurable. If Ying and Wei (Defensive and Nutritive Qi) are deficient, essence and marrow are exhausted, with slight shortness of breath and inability to move the hands and feet, death will occur after dragging out the years. Furthermore, external injury from the six qi evils combined with internal disturbance from the seven emotions causes such harm; how can one not be cautious? Those who suffer relapse without sexual contact are named Nu Lao Fu (Female Labor Relapse), attributed to Yang collapse and excess evil, which is also incurable.
[General Treatment] Tao Hua stated: If the symptoms involve alternating chills and fever without regularity, for cold-type conditions, mix Shao Kun San (Scorched Underwear Powder) into hot decoctions for administration; for heat-type conditions, mix Shao Kun San into cold decoctions for administration. This approach is considered appropriate for treating various types of Yi syndromes.
[Guiding Yin Qi] Shao Kun San (Scorched Underwear Powder), Shu Ju Pi Tang (Mouse Citrus Peel Decoction - *Note: Likely refers to Arctii Fructus and Tangerine Peel formula*).
[Promoting Urination] For difficulty in urination, use Wu Ling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria).
[Warming] Dang Gui Bai Zhu Tang (Angelica and Atractylodes Macrocephala Decoction), Gan Jiang Tang (Dried Ginger Decoction).
