按《天元玉册》曰∶天蓬一,水正之宫也;天芮二,土神之应宫也;天冲三,木正之宫也;

It is stated that in years of deficient Five Movements (Wu Yun), there are positions corresponding to the Palace of Disaster (Zai Gong), thus disasters cannot be discussed uniformly. The Classics state: "The Nine Stars hang bright and clear, the Seven Luminaries (Sun, Moon, and five planets) revolve around the sky," which constitutes the Nine Star Divisions (Jiu Xing Fen Ye) governed by Heaven. Therefore, in a year of Shao Jue (Lesser Wood), disaster is said to fall on the Third Palace, corresponding to the East Palace Zhen position, governed by Tian Chong Star. In a year of Shao Zheng (Lesser Fire), disaster is said to fall on the Ninth Palace, corresponding to the South Chamber Li position, governed by Tian Ying Star. In a year of Shao Gong (Lesser Earth), disaster is said to fall on the Fifth Palace, corresponding to the Central Chamber, governed by Tian Qin Star, with a subsidiary position in the Second Palace Kun position. In a year of Shao Shang (Lesser Metal), disaster is said to fall on the Seventh Palace, corresponding to the West Chamber Dui position, governed by Tian Zhu Star. In a year of Shao Yu (Lesser Water), disaster is said to fall on the First Palace, corresponding to the North Chamber Kan position, governed by Tian Peng Star. All these discussions are based on the direction where the Qi movement is deficient.
According to *Tianyuan Yuce*: Tian Peng is the First Palace, the correct palace of Water; Tian Rui is the Second Palace, the responsive palace of Earth Spirit; Tian Chong is the Third Palace, the correct palace of Wood; Tian Fu is the Fourth Palace, the palace of Wood Spirit; Tian Qin is the Fifth Palace, the correct palace of Earth; Tian Xin is the Sixth Palace, the responsive palace of Metal Spirit; Tian Zhu is the Seventh Palace, the correct palace of Metal; Tian Ren is the Eighth Palace, the responsive palace of Fire Spirit; Tian Jiu is the Ninth Palace, the correct palace of Fire. Below, they correspond to the divisions of the Nine Provinces, namely Xu, Ji, Yan, Qing, Yang, Jing, Xiang, Liang, and Yong.
Song of the Palace of Disaster:
When the year encounters deficiency, there is a Palace of Disaster;
Xin corresponds to One, Ding to Three, Ji to Five similarly.
Seven numbers indicate Shao Shang (which is Yi), and Gui corresponds to Nine,
While Earth is subserviently placed in the Second Palace Kun, clashing. (Note: Two is the subservient position for Earth, not the number of the Palace of Disaster.)

The song states:
Taking Five Elements as an example, Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches follow the pattern of Yang Husband (e.g., Jia Zi) and Yin Wife (e.g., Yi Chou).
Jia Zi can marry Yi Chou; separated by eight, three generates Metal.
For instance, in the single branch of Zi, it contains the Five Tones.
Jia is Metal, Bing is Water, Wu is Fire, Geng is Earth, Ren is Wood, adjacent to one another.
