The Kidney pulse is deficient, appearing soft and deep, as well as slightly fine and soggy. Whenever the Chi (cun) pulse exhibits the "Ba Li" (eight li) characteristic, or when the pulse beats forcefully, it indicates seminal emission. A distinct Heart pulse often accompanies frequent erotic dreams.
When all six pulses are soggy, slow, and superficial, with an additional choppy quality, it indicates spermatorrhea in urine.
When all six pulses are soggy, the Kidney pulse is deep and fine, the Bladder pulse is active, slow, and large, and the Heart pulse is active and floating, the primary symptom is turbid white urine. If the Liver and Heart pulses are wiry, and the Kidney pulse is tight and fine, upon heavy pressure, the pulse comes slowly but departs rapidly; the urine should be red and turbid. If the Kidney pulse is fine, deep, and slightly tight, while the Lung pulse is heavy and large, the urine volume decreases and pain precedes in the lower abdomen; this indicates cold pathogen latent in the Bao Luo (uterine/connective tissue network).
A red pulse (Heart pulse) that is wiry and knotted indicates yin hidden within yang, leading to fullness of the Bao (uterus/womb), inability to urinate, and bursting distension in the lower abdomen.
If the six pulses resemble those of a normal person, except for the Spleen pulse which is rapid, large, and numerous under one finger, and only the Kidney pulse is slightly weak, the symptoms include headache, dry mouth, and spermatorrhea in urine. This indicates Earth pathogen invading the Kidney, requiring clearing of the Spleen heat.
In women, if the Chi Ze area shows a weak pulse, combined with a slow pulse and "Ba Li" characteristics, along with an active Bladder pulse, it indicates excessive leukorrhea. If the Kidney pulse is active and deep, it causes dampness, itching, and sores in the genitalia; in men, dampness in the genitals occurs. These are all manifestations of essence loss.
If all six pulses are choppy, slow, and delayed, it indicates seminal emission in men and blood degeneration (blood stasis) in women.
If the Heart and Lung pulses are rapid and active, and the Kidney and Bladder pulses are active and soggy, men present with polyuria and dry mouth. In women postpartum, abundant lactation and dry mouth occur; in such cases, the Kidney should be tonified heavily, and dry mouth should not be mistaken for heat syndrome.
Regarding hernia disease, the Chi pulse is tight and active, becoming deficient upon palpation.
If the Lung pulse is lightly wiry and deficient, the Stomach pulse is deep, soggy, and soft, and the Chi pulse is soft, cold jue (reversal) enters the Stomach and Lungs. The pathology is located in the lower abdomen, where a sensation of a mass may be felt; Kidney deficiency leads to hernia disease.
If the Liver pulse is wiry and rapid, and the Kidney pulse is soft and deficient, this also constitutes hernia, as the Jue Yin (Liver) meridian connects to the external genitalia.
If all six pulses are urgent and deep, it indicates hernia or jia (masses), accompanied by lower abdominal pain. Generally, hernia and jia result from cold pathogen clashing internally, where urgency causes pain. If the Kidney pulse is large, urgent, and deep, it is Kidney hernia, requiring warming of the Kidney. If the Liver pulse is large, urgent, and deep, it is Liver hernia, requiring warming of the Liver. If the Heart pulse is active and deep, and urgent and deep, and the Lung pulse presents similarly, both indicate hernia. If the pulse is small and urgent but does not beat vigorously against the fingers, it indicates jia (masses).
