Lan, female, 14 years old. The pulse is rapid (Shu). Edema (Shuiqi) spreads from the face to the soles of the feet. The *Classic of Internal Medicine* states: "When a disease begins in the upper part and becomes severe in the lower part, treat the upper first, then the lower." We discuss the principle that edema above the waist should be treated by inducing sweating, adopting the method of Yuebi Jia Zhu Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Atractylodes Macrocephala Decoction).

Fu, male, 24 years old. Initially, due to a preference for drinking iced yellow wine paired with rock sugar and iced fruits, internal dampness failed to circulate. External wind contracted. Swelling started from the head and face. Unable to lie down, sitting upright on bedding day and night. Head swollen like a bucket. All six pulses are surging and large. First use Yuebi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) to induce sweating. Swelling gradually subsided. Subsequently administered herbs to regulate Spleen and Stomach. After 143 doses, cured. Advised to avoid pork, yellow wine, and fruits. Although he did not drink wine, he could not quit iced fruits. One year later, hematochezia flowed like a spring after defecation. Prescribed Jinkui Huangtu Tang (Earthy Soil Decoction from the Golden Cabinet). Each dose used one jin of Earthy Soil and 8 qian of Aconite. After more than 30 doses, bleeding stopped.
