1. In cases of accidental ingestion of opium, immediately obtain the cotton-like florets of *Bombax ceiba* (Kapok) from Guangdong, accurately weigh four qian (approx. 15g), hold them with a brush handle, and burn them to charcoal while preserving their medicinal properties (charred but not ashed). Place this in a tea bowl. Then, accurately weigh two qian (approx. 7.5g) of salt, crush it, and add it to the same tea bowl. Pour boiling water into the bowl, stir well, and administer orally. Within a short period, the patient will vomit profusely black fluid and recover. If the toxin is located in the stomach, it is expelled via vomiting; if in the intestines, via diarrhea. If the toxicity is severe or the poisoning has persisted for a long time, administer two to three consecutive doses until recovery through vomiting and diarrhea.
2. In cases of accidental ingestion of brine, calomel (mercurous chloride), or any other toxic substances, immediately obtain six qian (approx. 22.5g) of *Bombax ceiba* florets, burn them to charcoal, crush them, and administer by mixing with water. Do not use salt. Recovery occurs after a single episode of vomiting.
3. For cases of dysentery with toxic pathogens that are unresponsive to standard herbal treatments, also obtain six to eight qian (approx. 22.5–30g) of *Bombax ceiba* florets, burn them to charcoal. Combine with one to two qian (approx. 3.75–7.5g) of Hawthorn fruit (*Crataegi Fructus*) and one to two qian (approx. 3.75–7.5g) of brown sugar. Decoct and administer orally to achieve recovery.
The above methods were transmitted from Jiangxi province and have already saved thousands of lives, proving effective upon repeated trials. In recent years, in Beijing, individuals who ingested opium were also fully rescued using these methods, with rapid and reliable efficacy. It is earnestly hoped that gentlemen will widely disseminate these remedies, thereby accumulating boundless merit.
