This condition manifests on the upper lip, directly opposite the Renzhong (GV26) acupoint. It initially appears red and subsequently turns black, accompanied by tidal fever throughout the body. The onset is extremely rapid, caused by wind-heat toxic pathogenic factors originating from the Spleen Meridian. Treatment should employ Ganjie Tang (Licorice and Platycodon Decoction) with added Baishao (White Peony Root), along with herbs that dispel wind, resolve toxicity, and drain the Spleen. Externally, apply a powder made from Wuliu Yu Ya (Tooth of Black Horse Fish, calcined to retain its carbonized nature) mixed with Bingpian (Borneol) and Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), blended with honey for application; alternatively, applying it with Cha You (Camellia Oil) is also effective.
This condition manifests on the lips, resembling the mouth of a fish. The breath has no foul odor, and saliva cannot be controlled. This is due to heat-toxic pathogens originating from the Spleen Meridian. The upper lip corresponds to the Spleen, while the lower lip corresponds to the Stomach. Treatment should prioritize Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) and Baishao (White Peony Root), assisted by herbs that clear the Spleen and drain the Stomach. Applying Bingpeng San (Ice and Borax Powder) externally will lead to recovery.
This condition manifests inside the throat, either on the left or right side, presenting as a single patch of swelling. There is severe pain at the base of the ear, and pus forms after seven days. This is classified as a Yang syndrome. Treatment should involve calming the Liver if on the left, clearing the Lung if on the right, combined with herbs that raise and lift Qi.
This condition manifests in the middle of the half-neck within the throat, forming a tubercle that suppurates. It should not be punctured with needles; allow the pus to discharge naturally. Patients suffering from this condition invariably experience severe tidal fever. Treatment should utilize Ganjie Tang (Licorice and Platycodon Decoction) with added herbs that raise and lift Qi and dispel wind.
This condition manifests on the left and right sides of the throat, characterized by white and yellow meridians/veins, with a large head and thin tail, extending straight down into the throat. This is a critical/dangerous condition requiring utmost caution. The treatment method should use Ganjie Tang (Licorice and Platycodon Decoction) with added lifting herbs. If the toxin descends into the abdomen, resulting in faint breath and hoarseness, the condition is incurable.
This condition arises in the internal septum of the throat. The onset is extremely rapid, with urgent and labored breathing. Food and drink cannot be swallowed; even tea enters the mouth but exits through the nose. Treatment should employ herbs that raise and lift Qi, dispel wind, and resolve toxicity.
This condition manifests inside the throat tube, with nodules on both the left and right sides, preventing food intake. If the patient presents with a dark complexion, miserable spirit, neck swelling, noisy respiration without phlegm, and eyes that do not move, the condition is incurable.
This condition manifests at the jaw joints (temporomandibular region). The exterior is swollen, and the interior is also swollen with a pale red color, without forming tubercles. Internally, rub Yulong San (Jade Dragon Powder); externally, apply Duan Shi (Calcined Alumen) mixed with vinegar for immediate effect. Alternatively, rubbing Hu Gu (Tiger Bone) ground in vinegar can also cure it.
This is a condition caused by toxic pathogens acquired during fetal development. It commonly affects children between the ages of two and five. The condition manifests with yellow-white spots on the corners of the mouth, lips, tip of the tongue, underside of the tongue, and the surface of the tongue. There are also spots on the jaw joints, with nodules forming at higher points. The nodules can be pricked with needles to bleed, followed by washing the area with water infused with Jinyinhua (Honeysuckle Flower) and Gancao (Licorice Root). Alternatively, washing with decoction of Wubeizi (Chinese Gallnut) is also suitable. Another prescription involves adding Pengsha (Borax) and Mingfan (Alumen) to the aforementioned herbs, grinding them into a fine powder for frequent application until cured. Although this condition may persist for one to two months, it remains treatable.
