One crucian carp. Remove scales and intestines, then pound into a paste. Add 5-6 qian of tougu (scalp dirt). Then add half a cup of honey and mix extremely evenly. Apply from the periphery of the wound towards the center. Leave one hole to discharge toxic gases. After two applications, it will completely resolve, and pain will cease immediately. If the lesion has already formed with a head about to suppurate, or if other physicians have treated it ineffectively and pus has already discharged, internally administer Sanxiang Dingtong Yin (Three Fragrances Decoction for Pain Relief), which can revive the dying.
Muxiang (Costus Root), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Zisu (Perilla Leaf), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Houpo (Magnolia Bark), Gancao (Licorice Root), Jiegeng (Platycodon Root), Guangui (Cassia Twig), Wuyao (Lindera Root), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Shaoyao (Peony Root), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root), Chuanxiong (Sichuan Lovage Rhizome), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root), Ruxiang (Frankincense), Moyao (Myrrh).
Take the above herbs, add two zhong of water. Add three slices of fresh ginger and two red dates. Decoct and take in divided doses after meals.
Grind Jingmo (Beijing Ink) with ginger juice, and apply around the perimeter of the wound. Then apply white plum and pig bile to the wound surface; this will lead to cure.
Regardless of whether it is a lateral or central carbuncle. Use ash from shed snake skin. Mix with good wine and take orally; this will cause resolution.
Huangla (Yellow Beeswax, 1 liang), hair, Gongfen (Chinese Lead Powder, each 3 qian), Shexiang (Musk, a small amount), Xiangyou (Sesame Oil, 3 liang).
First boil the sesame oil until rolling, then add the hair. Next, add the yellow beeswax and melt it. Then add the Chinese lead powder and boil briefly. Remove from heat, then add the musk. Cut old dry paper into squares, dip them in the oil, and remove. Allow to cool and solidify. Each time, use five or seven pieces to apply to the affected area; this will draw out pus. Apply another ten-plus pieces to achieve cure.
Two mulberry branches, as thick as a thumb. Burn them with charcoal fire. Extinguish one end. Carefully fumigate the wound with the smoke. If the lesion is unformed, it will dissipate. If it is formed, it will rupture. It removes ding (carbuncles) where there are ding, and removes toxins where there are toxins. Fumigation stops pain where there is pain, leading to peace; if there was no pain but becomes painful upon fumigation, it indicates healing. This has been repeatedly verified to be miraculous.
For all types of yongju (abscesses and sores), fabei (back carbuncles), and wuming zhongdu (unidentified swelling and toxicity), especially those in the initial stage with fever but not yet ruptured. This is miraculous.
Chenfenzi (aged wheat flour, from the previous year) is roasted in a clay pot. Initially roast until sticky like syrup; continue roasting until dry, turning yellow-black. Allow to cool, then place on the ground to eliminate "fire toxin." Grind into powder. Mix with Chenmi cu (aged rice vinegar, the older the better) to form a paste. Boil until thick like black lacquer. Store in a porcelain jar. When using, spread onto paper, warm/roast slightly, and apply to the wound; it feels cold like ice. Pain stops immediately. After a short while, itching is felt. Do not disturb even when dry. Alternatively, bind/wrap it. Over time, it will naturally dissolve and fall off when its efficacy is exhausted. The medicine is easy to obtain and highly effective; those who save lives should treasure it.
