[Lei Yin Wan Formula]
Crotonis Fructus Pericarpium (Badou Doupi, 巴豆皮), remove the kernel and use only the pericarp. From two taels of beans, approximately three to four qian of pericarp can be obtained. Lightly stir-fry until yellow. Under no circumstances should a single Crotonis Fructus kernel be used. Amomi Fructus Rotundus (Suansharen, 缩砂仁) (one tael, stir-fried); Rheum Palmatum Radix et Rhizoma (Chuan Dahuang, 川大黄) (three qian, half raw and half stir-fried); Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum (Ganjiang, 干姜) (three qian, stir-fried until black); Aucklandiae Radix (Guang Muxiang, 广木香) (three qian, stir-fried until black); Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus cum Spina (Yazao, 牙皂) (two pieces, remove tendons and stir-fried); Kansui Radix (Gansui, 甘遂) (one qian five fen, stir-fried until yellow).
The above seven herbs are ground together into a fine powder. Sieve through silk gauze, mix with vinegar and wheat paste to form pills, sized like mung beans. Coat with fine powder from soot collected from the bottom of cooking pots (Baicaoshuang, 百草霜), and dry in the sun. Take thirty to forty pills each morning on an empty stomach, delivered with ginger decoction. Each dose may induce water evacuation two or three times; daily administration leads to daily purging, and as purging continues, edema gradually subsides. Stool becomes firmer, and urine volume increases while its color becomes clearer. Continue administration until all retained fluid is expelled. However, the dosage must be adjusted according to the patient's age and physical constitution (strong or weak) to control the degree of purging; do not adhere rigidly to fixed numbers. For treating diseases, one batch may suffice for severe cases, or half a batch for mild cases, leading to recovery. This formula also treats alcohol accumulation and food stagnation with remarkable efficacy. Guard this secret carefully. Although this medicine induces purgation, it does not damage the primordial Qi (Yuánqì, 元气). For patients suffering from Shuigu (Water Drum, abdominal ascites), salt and soy sauce must be strictly avoided for over one hundred days after taking the medicine; if violated, relapse will occur and cannot be saved. Use vinegar brewed in the twelfth lunar month (Lacù, 腊醋). The soot refers to Baicaoshuang (Baicaoshuang, 百草霜); soot from burning weeds is preferred. Kansui Radix (Gansui, 甘遂) should be soaked in Licorice Root decoction (Gancao, 甘草) for three days, changing the water once daily, until the water shows no black discoloration. Then, wrap in wheat flour and bake near fire until the flour turns entirely yellow. Although Kansui Radix (Gansui, 甘遂) and Licorice Root (Gancao, 甘草) have contrary properties, the key lies in the physician's skillful application; since Kansui Radix (Gansui, 甘遂) is potent and violent, this processing method removes its harshness.

Pomatiopsis Burliana (Tianluo, 田螺) (four pieces, remove shell); Allium Sativum Bulb (Dasuantou, 蒜头) (five cloves, remove skin); Plantaginis Herba (Cheqiancao, 车前草) (three qian; alternatively, Plantaginis Semen Powder, Cheqianzi, 车前子).
Mash the above three ingredients together into a paste. Form into one cake and apply to the umbilicus (Shenzhu, 神阙). When fluid exits via urination, the disease is cured. After applying the medicine, bind firmly with a handkerchief. Shortly thereafter, urination becomes distinct and abundant; replacing with two or three cakes is especially effective.
[Miraculous Formula for Qi Drum and Water Drum (Transmitted by Yang Zeqing, rare ingredients, carefully preserved)]
Meconium from the first-born male infant (one portion); Egg from the first-laid hen (one piece).
Make a small hole in the egg and pour out all albumen and yolk. Fill the shell completely with meconium. Seal tightly with thick paper. On the day the hen begins incubating eggs, place it inside for twenty-one days of incubation, then retrieve. Grind the meconium into an extremely fine powder. Prepare Agarwood (Chenxiang, 沉香) and a wooden tube. Place the meconium powder into the tube, cover with one tael of Mercury (Shuiyin, 水银) to "nourish" it. Seal the tube mouth with yellow beeswax. Carry it close to the body to nourish it with human breath. When needed, pour out the mercury. Use a bone needle to pick up a small amount of meconium powder. According to the rule "left for males, right for females," apply to the inner canthus of the eye. If
