Discourse states: The nine types of heart pain refer to those caused by parasites (chong), infectious or wandering pathogens (zhu), wind (feng), palpitations due to mental unrest (ji), food stagnation (shi), fluid retention (yin), cold (leng), heat (re), and intermittent pain that comes and goes (qulai). Treating diseases requires seeking the root cause. Although these nine types of heart pain have different names, their treatments vary. Generally, when the righteous qi (Zhengqi) is harmonious, evil pathogens cannot invade; if the righteous qi is deficient, external pathogens will take advantage of the weakness, causing various ailments. A skilled physician understands that by expelling evil pathogens to support the righteous qi, the treatment principle for all nine types of pain becomes unified. The *Yanling Zhibao Lun* states: For "ghost strike" qi (sudden invasion by evil pathogens), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis) and Shexiang (Moschus) should be used; if there is Qi stagnation with mutual attacking sensations, raw Taoren (Persicae Semen) should be chewed. Such cases require flexible treatment based on specific conditions. This reasoning is sound.
