It is stated that the Hand-Shaoyin Meridian is the meridian of the Heart. The Heart belongs to Yang within Yang and is the convergence point of all Yang meridians. If the Qi of all Yang channels becomes deficient, causing the Qi of the Shaoyin Meridian to rebel, Yang deficiency leads to Yin Jue (cold extremities/reversal), resulting in heart pain, which is termed Jue Xintong (Jue-type Heartache).
To treat Jue Xintong characterized by a dark blue-black complexion, fixed staring eyes, and pain radiating from the heart and abdomen to the hypochondrium with distension: Use Gaoliangjiang San (Galangal Powder).
Ingredients: Gaoliangjiang (Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma), Wuyao (Litseae Monophyllae Fructus), Jingsanleng (Curcumae Radix) — all cut into pieces, each 1 liang; Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus) — soaked in water overnight, sun-dried, 2 liang, stir-fried together with the above three ingredients until Wuzhuyu turns scorched, then remove Wuzhuyu; Danshen (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) — cut and lightly stir-fried; Chenxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum) — cut; Shacaogen (Cyperus Rotundus Rhizoma) — stir-fried and de-haired, each half liang; Shexiang (Moschus) — separately ground into powder, added in portions.
Twelve ingredients in total. Pound and grind into a powder. Take 3 qianbi per dose, mixed with Fu Ling Tang (Poria Decoction) or adjusted with wine containing stir-fried Tao Ren (Persicae Semen).
To treat heart pain caused by cold Qi attacking upward due to Jue Ni (reversal of cold): Use Danggui San (Angelica Sinensis Powder).
Ingredients: Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) — cut and lightly stir-fried; Chenjupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) — soaked in hot water, white pith removed, dried; Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) — bark removed; Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) — pith removed, bran-stir-fried; Binglang (Arecae Semen); Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) — radix tip removed, stir-fried, each 1 liang; ChiShaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra); Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix); Renshen (Ginseng Radix) — each half liang.
Nine ingredients in total. Pound and sieve into a fine powder. Take 2 qianbi per dose, mixed with Shengjiang Zao Tang (Fresh Ginger and Jujube Decoction). Take at any time.
To treat Jue Xintong with vomiting, rebellious Qi, and suffocation: Use Wuzhuyu Wan (Evodia Pills).
