Commentary states: After childbirth, qi and blood are still deficient. Wind-cold pathogenic factors invade the spleen and stomach, causing food and drinks to fail in their normal transportation and transformation functions. This results in a sensation of fullness and obstruction. The rebellious upward movement of qi leads to vomiting and hiccuping. If this persists for a long time without resolution, the middle jiao becomes deficient and unable to accept food; forcing intake will also cause dysphagia or a feeling of blockage.
