Commentary states: After childbirth, the Qi and Blood have not yet returned to a state of harmony. Pathogenic factors lodge in the Fengfu (GV16) acupoint, travel downward along the spine, and converge with the Wei Qi (Defensive Qi) at the Da Zhui (GV14) area. This leads to an interaction and struggle between Yin and Yang, resulting in alternating deficiency and excess, and alternating dominance of cold and heat.
