Discussion states: Sorrow, worry, and overthinking damage the Heart. Due to Heart deficiency, pathogenic factors enter. In women who have just given birth, internal body fluids are depleted, leading to Blood deficiency and weak Shen (Spirit). This causes mental confusion, erroneous speech, trance-like instability, and in severe cases, transforms into mania or epilepsy syndromes. Treatment should focus on nourishing Blood and benefiting the Heart, calming the Shen and stabilizing the Zhi (Will). The illness will heal naturally.
Formula of Poria Pill for treating postpartum Qi and Blood deficiency, mental unrest, and erroneous speech:
Bai Fuling (Poria with Black Skin Removed, 1.5 liang), Zexie (Alisma Rhizome), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, each 1 liang), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig with Rough Bark Removed), Changpu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma, each 1.5 liang), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix).
The above nine ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder, mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 20 pills per dose, administered with Ginseng decoction, at any time.

Fushen (Poria with Wood Removed, 1 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Longchi (Dragon Bone/Fossilized Bones), Hupo (Amber), Chi Shaoyao (Red Peony Root), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, sliced), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, wine-soaked, sliced, and dried, each 3 qian).

The above ten ingredients, excluding the kidney, are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take 3 qianbi per dose, use one zhan of sheep kidney juice, decoct until 0.7 zhan remains, remove dregs, and take warm at any time.

Fushen (Poria with Wood Removed, 2 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Shaoyao (Peony Root, sliced, each 1.5 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root, roasted and sliced), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and dried), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig with Rough Bark Removed, each 1 liang).
The above six ingredients are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take 2 qianbi per dose, add one zhan of water, three slices of fresh ginger, and two broken jujubes, decoct together until 0.7 zhan remains, remove dregs, and take warm at any time.
Powder of Musk for treating postpartum Blood-pathogen causing wild and chaotic speech:
Shexiang (Musk, separately ground, 1 fen), Wuya Mao (Crow Feather, burnt), Hufen (Tiger Excrement, burnt to ash, each half liang).
