论曰∶愁忧思虑则伤心，恚怒气逆，上而不下则伤肝。盖心主血，肝藏血，二藏俱伤，
则血不循经，随气上逆，故因呕而血出也。《内经》曰∶怒则气上，甚则呕血。
治呕血唾血，咳逆气喘短气。款冬花丸方。
款冬花 紫菀（去苗土各三两） 杏仁（汤浸去皮尖、双仁，炒） 豉（炒各二两半） 人

上一十一味，捣罗为末，炼蜜和丸，如弹子大。每服一丸，冷熟水嚼下，日三夜二。

上二味，捣罗为散。每服二钱匕，井华水调下，不拘时。
治吐血呕血。五灵脂饼子方。
五灵脂（一两） 芦荟（二钱）
上二味，捣研为末，滴水和丸如鸡头大，捏作饼子。每服二饼，龙脑浆水化下，不拘时。
治呕血、吐血及鼻衄血。麦门冬汁方。
生麦门冬（汁） 生地黄汁 生藕（汁） 冷熟水（各一盏） 白药（一两为末）
上五味，合和匀。每服二盏，略煎沸，温服，不拘时。
治卒呕血。羚羊角饮方。
羚羊角（镑一两半） 桂（去粗皮二两） 大黄（锉，炒一两）
上三味，粗捣筛。每服三钱匕，水一盏半，煎至一盏，去滓冷服，不拘时。
治呕血不止。荆芥饮方。
荆芥穗 栀子仁 黄芩（去黑心） 蒲黄（各一两）
上四味，粗捣筛。每服三钱匕，水一盏，煎至七分，去滓冷服，不拘时。
治呕血，烦满少气，胸中痛。阿胶汤方。
阿胶（炙令燥） 甘草（炙各一两半）
上二味，粗捣筛。每服三钱匕，水一盏，入生地黄汁三合，同煎至七分，去滓温服，不
拘时。

黄柏（去粗皮，蜜炙）二两
上一味，捣罗为散。每服二钱匕，麦门冬熟水调下。
治忧恚呕血，烦满少气，胸中痛。生地黄汤方。

Discussion states: Sorrow and excessive thinking damage the Heart (Xin, 心), while anger causes Qi (Qi, 气) to rebel and ascend without descending, thereby damaging the Liver (Gan, 肝). The Heart governs Blood (Xue, 血), and the Liver stores Blood. When both organs are injured, Blood fails to follow its normal meridians and rebels upward with Qi; thus, bleeding occurs through vomiting. The *Neijing* (Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor) states: "Anger causes Qi to ascend, and in severe cases, it leads to vomiting blood."
**Kuandonghua Wan Formula** for treating hematemesis, spitting blood, coughing with rebellious Qi, asthma, and shortness of breath.
* Tussilagae Flos (Kuandonghua, 款冬花)
* Asteris Radix et Rhizoma (Ziwan, 紫菀) [removed seedlings and soil, each 3 liang]
* Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren, 杏仁) [soaked in hot water, skin and tips removed, non-double kernels used, stir-fried]
* Sojae Praeparata (Chidou, 豉) [stir-fried, each 2.5 liang]
* Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 人参)
* Platycladi Cacumen (Baiye, 柏叶) [stalks removed, dried by baking]
* Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Shengshengdihuang, 生干地黄) [dried by baking, each 3 qian]
The above eleven ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder, mixed with refined honey, and formed into pills the size of a bullet. Take one pill per dose, chewed down with cold, boiled water. Administer three times during the day and twice at night.
**Zelan Tang Decoction** for treating internal injury with acute chest pain, coughing with hematemesis, alternating chills and fever, and yellow-red urine.
* Lycopi Herba (Zelan, 泽兰) [6 liang]
* Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang, 大黄) [crushed, stir-fried]
* Polygalae Radix (Yuanzhi, 远志) [heart removed, each 1 liang]
* Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 人参) [3 liang]
* Cannabis Fructus (Maren, 麻仁)
* Morus Cortex (Sangbaipipi, 桑根白皮) [crushed, each 4 liang]
The above six ingredients are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take five qianbi (approx. 5-7 grams) per dose, decoct with 1.5 sheng of water until reduced to 1 sheng. Strain and take cold, at any time.
**Yujin San Powder** for treating hematemesis.
* Curcumae Radix (Yujin, 郁金) [crushed]
* Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [roasted, crushed, each 1 liang]
The above two ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder. Take two qianbi per dose, mixed well with spring water drawn at dawn (Jinghua Shui, 井华水), at any time.
**Wulingzhi Bingzi Pills** for treating hemoptysis and hematemesis.
* Trogopterori Faeces (Wulingzhi, 五灵脂) [1 liang]
* Aloe (Luhui, 芦荟) [2 qian]
The above two ingredients are crushed and ground into powder. Add water dropwise to form pills the size of a corn kernel, then shape into cakes. Take two cakes per dose, dissolved in Borneol-infused water, at any time.
**Mendongdong Zhi Juice Formula** for treating hematemesis, hemoptysis, and epistaxis.
* Ophiopogonis Radix (Mendongdong, 麦门冬) [fresh juice]
* Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdihuang, 生地黄) [fresh juice]
* Nelumbinis Rhizoma (Ou, 藕) [fresh juice]
* Cold boiled water [each 1 sheng]
* Baiyao (White Medicine, 白药) [1 liang, powdered]
The above five ingredients are mixed evenly. Take two sheng per dose, briefly boil, and take warm, at any time.
**Lingyangjiao Yin Decoction** for treating sudden hematemesis.
* Saiga Tatarica Cornu (Lingyangjiao, 羚羊角) [sliced, 1.5 liang]
* Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guizhi, 桂) [bark removed, 2 liang]
* Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang, 大黄) [crushed, stir-fried, 1 liang]
The above three ingredients are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take three qianbi per dose, decoct with 1.5 sheng of water until reduced to 1 sheng. Strain and take cold, at any time.
**Jingjie Yin Decoction** for treating persistent hematemesis.
* Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjisui, 荆芥穗)
* Gardeniae Fructus (Zhizi, 栀子) [kernel]
* Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, 黄芩) [black heart removed]
* Pappaveris Pollen (Puhuang, 蒲黄) [each 1 liang]
The above four ingredients are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take three qianbi per dose, decoct with 1 sheng of water until reduced to 70%. Strain and take cold, at any time.
**Ejiao Tang Decoction** for treating hematemesis accompanied by irritability, fullness, shortness of breath, and chest pain.
* Colla Corii Asini (Ejiao, 阿胶) [roasted until dry]
* Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [roasted, each 1.5 liang]
The above two ingredients are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take three qianbi per dose, add 3 he of fresh Rehmannia juice to 1 sheng of water, decoct together until reduced to 70%. Strain and take warm, at any time.
**Jingjie Tang Decoction** for treating hematemesis.
* Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjisui, 荆芥穗) [1 liang]
The above single ingredient is coarsely crushed and sieved. Take three qianbi per dose, decoct with 1.5 sheng of water until reduced to 1 sheng. Strain and take cold, at any time.
**Bijin San Powder** for treating hematemesis.
* Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai, 黄柏) [bark removed, honey-roasted] [2 liang]
The above single ingredient is crushed, sifted into powder. Take two qianbi per dose, mixed with Maitunghua prepared water, at any time.
**Shengdihuang Tang Decoction** for treating hematemesis due to sorrow and indignation, accompanied by irritability, fullness, shortness of breath, and chest pain.
* Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdihuang, 生地黄) [8 liang]
* Colla Corii Asini (Ejiao, 阿胶) [roasted until dry]
* Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [roasted, each 1.5 liang]
The above three ingredients are cut into pieces the size of hemp seeds. Take five qianbi per dose, decoct with 1.5 sheng of water and two Jujubae Fructus (Dazao, 大枣) (split open) until reduced to 70%. Strain and take warm, twice during the day and once at night.
**Jianzhong Tang Decoction** for treating deficiency consumption with internal injury, alternating chills and fever, rebellious Qi with vomiting, and bleeding.
* Paeoniae Radix Alba (Shaoyao, 芍药)
* Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia, 半夏) [washed seven times in hot water]
* Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) [roasted, each 1.5 liang]
* Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guizhi, 桂) [bark removed, 1 liang]
The above four ingredients are cut into pieces the size of hemp seeds. Take four qianbi per dose, decoct with 1.5 sheng of water, one piece of Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang, 生姜) (size of a date, sliced), and two Jujubae Fructus (Dazao, 大枣) (split open) until reduced to 80%. Strain, add one part of Malt Sugar (Yitang, 饴糖), boil again until bubbling, let cool to warm temperature, and take. Twice during the day and once at night.
**Fulonggan Tang Decoction** for treating hematemesis.
* Dragon's House Earth (Fulonggan, 伏龙肝) [1.5 liang]
* Bambusae Caulis in Taenia (Zhuru, 竹茹) [fresh, crushed, 1 sheng]
* Paeoniae Radix Alba (Shaoyao, 芍药)
* Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui, 当归) [sliced, dried]
* Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, 黄芩) [black heart removed]
* Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong, 川芎)
* Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草)
The above eight ingredients are cut into pieces the size of hemp seeds. Take five qianbi per dose, decoct with 1.5 sheng of water until reduced to 80%. Strain and take warm, three times daily.
