The discussion states: The *Neijing* (Classic of Internal Medicine) records that the back belongs to Yang, and the abdomen belongs to Yin. The meridians and collaterals of the whole body maintain a balance of Yin and Yang. If Qi and Blood are deficient, Wind pathogen will invade the meridians. When the Yang meridians are affected by Wind, the collaterals contract and become tense, causing the waist and back to arch backward, resembling the shape of a horn bow; hence it is named "Jiaogong Fanzhang" (Opisthotonos).
