论曰妊娠之人，将护为难，若触冒风寒，饮食生冷，及喜怒劳动之过，悉致胎动。胎动
则气血失度，故下血也。古方又云，母有宿疾，子脏为风冷所乘者，亦令胎动下血，皆失将
护所致。
治妊娠胎动腹痛，下血运闷。阿胶汤方
阿胶（炙燥一两） 生姜（切炒干三分） 芎 续断（各半两） 侧柏 当归（切焙）

上九味，粗捣筛，每服三钱匕，水一盏，入枣二枚擘，煎至七分，去滓温服。
治妊娠胎动血下不止，或胎漏腹痛。桑寄生汤方

上一味，以清酒二盏，煎三五沸，投蜡令稍顿服。

上二味拌匀，每服五钱匕，酒一盏半，煎至八分，去滓温服。
治妊娠卒胎动，下血不止。阿胶饮方

上二味，粗捣筛，每服三钱匕，水酒共一盏，煎至七分，去滓温服，以效为度。

上七味，捣罗为散，每服二钱匕，煎艾汤调下，米饮亦得。
Commentary states: For pregnant women, proper care and nursing are difficult to maintain. If they are exposed to wind-cold, consume raw or cold foods, or suffer from excesses in emotions (joy or anger) and physical labor, all these factors can lead to fetal movement instability. When the fetus moves restlessly, the Qi and blood lose their normal regulation, resulting in vaginal bleeding. Ancient formulas also state that if the mother has a pre-existing condition, and the uterus (Zi Zang) is invaded by wind-cold pathogenic factors, it will also cause fetal movement instability and bleeding; all of these are caused by a lack of proper care.
Treatment for fetal movement instability with abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding accompanied by syncope or oppression during pregnancy. Ejiao Decoction Formula
Ejiao (Jiaojiao, Gelatinum Corii Asini, roasted until dry, 1 liang), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, sliced and stir-fried until dry, 3 fen), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Xuduan (Dipsaci Radix) (each 0.5 liang), Cebaiye (Platycladi Cacumen), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and baked), Sangjisheng (Taxilli Herba).
The above nine herbs are coarsely crushed and sifted. Each dose consists of 3 qianbi, decocted with one zhan of water and two split jujubes (Da Zao) until reduced to 70%. Strain the dregs and take warm.
Treatment for fetal movement instability with continuous vaginal bleeding, or fetal leakage with abdominal pain during pregnancy. Sangjisheng Tang Formula
Sangjisheng (Taxilli Herba, 1.5 liang), Ejiao (Jiaojiao, Gelatinum Corii Asini, roasted until dry), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and baked), Baifuling (Poria, black skin removed), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Shu Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata).
The above ten herbs are coarsely crushed and sifted. Each dose consists of 3 qianbi, decocted with one zhan of water and two split jujubes until reduced to 70%. Strain the dregs and take warm at any time.
Treatment for fetal movement instability with continuous leaking blood during pregnancy. Lujiaojiao Tang Formula
Lujiaojiao (Cervi Cornus Colla, roasted until dry, 1 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Baifuling (Poria, black skin removed) (each 0.5 liang).
The above three herbs are coarsely crushed and sifted. Each dose consists of 3 qianbi, decocted with one zhan of water until reduced to 70%. Strain the dregs and take warm.
Treatment for sudden fetal movement instability with discharge of foul blood, unbearable abdominal pain, and mental restlessness during pregnancy. Chuanxiong San Formula
Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 1 liang), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 1.5 liang, cut into small pieces and slightly stir-fried), Lujiaojiao (Cervi Cornus Colla, 1.5 liang, crushed and stir-fried until yellow and dry), Sangjisheng (Taxilli Herba, 1 liang), Shu Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata).
The above five herbs are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Each dose consists of 4 qianbi, decocted with one zhongzhan of water, five slices of fresh ginger (Shengjiang), and three jujubes until reduced to 60%. Strain the dregs and take warm at any time.
Treatment for intermittent vaginal bleeding due to fetal movement instability, with abdominal and hypochondriac pain during pregnancy. Ejiao San Formula
Ejiao (Jiaojiao, Gelatinum Corii Asini, 3 fen, crushed and stir-fried until yellow and dry), Aiye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium, 0.5 liang, slightly stir-fried), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 3 fen, cut into small pieces and slightly stir-fried), Chishizhi (Halloysit Rubrum, 0.5 liang), Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 1 fen, honey-roasted).
The above ten herbs are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Each dose consists of 4 qianbi, decocted with one zhongzhan of water, five slices of fresh ginger, and three jujubes until reduced to 60%. Strain the dregs and take slightly warm at any time.
Treatment for damage to fetal qi causing internal knotted pain, continuous vaginal bleeding, and syncope/oppression during pregnancy. Ejiao San Formula
Ejiao (Jiaojiao, Gelatinum Corii Asini, roasted until dry), Sangshang Jisheng (Taxillus growing on mulberry tree, each 2 liang), Xuduan (Dipsaci Radix, 1.5 liang), Shu Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, baked), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma).
The above seven herbs are pounded and sifted into a powder. Each dose consists of 3 qianbi, taken with a decoction of Qingzhuru (Bambusa Textilis Culmus) and Nuomijian (Glutinous Rice). Take at any time.

Zonglupi (Livistonae Fructus Pericarpium, burnt to ash), Yuancansha (Bombycis Batryticatus, stir-fried, each 1 liang), Ejiao (Jiaojiao, Gelatinum Corii Asini, roasted until dry, 3 fen).
The above three herbs are pounded and sifted into a powder. Each dose consists of 2 qianbi, taken with warm wine. Take at any time.
Treatment for fetal movement instability with vaginal bleeding, bodily irritability, heat, and fatigue during pregnancy. Qinjiao Tang Formula
Qinjiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix, remove seedlings and soil), Lujiaojiao (Cervi Cornus Colla, roasted until dry), Diyü (Sanguisorbae Radix, cut into small pieces), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-roasted and cut into small pieces), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (each 0.5 liang).
The above seven herbs are coarsely crushed and sifted. Each dose consists of 5 qianbi, decocted with one and a half zhan of water and 50 glutinous rice grains until reduced to one zhan. Strain the dregs and take warm at any time.
Treatment for continuous vaginal bleeding due to fetal movement instability, umbilical/abdominal pain, confusion, and coma during pregnancy. Shaoyao San Formula
Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1 liang), Moli (Ostrea Concha, 0.5 liang), Shu Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, baked, 0.5 liang), Mozey (Equiseti Hiemalis Herba, cut into small pieces and stir-fried, 1 liang), Wouyu Gu (Sepiae Endoconcha, shell removed).

Wouyu Gu (Sepiae Endoconcha, shell removed, 1 liang), Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae), Chishizhi (Halloysit Rubrum) (each 0.5 liang).
The above five herbs are pounded and sifted into a powder. Each dose consists of 2 qianbi, taken with rice drink or warm wine before meals.

Cebaiye (Platycladi Cacumen), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) (each 1 liang), Daizhe (Haematitum, ground), Huangqi (Astragali Radix, cut into small pieces), Mozey (Equiseti Hiemalis Herba, cut into small pieces and stir-fried), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Yuyuliang (Hematitum, each 0.5 liang).
The above seven herbs are pounded into powder, mixed with flour paste boiled in wine into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Each dose consists of 20 pills, taken with strong decoction of Mozey in wine before meals.

Yuyuliang (Hematitum, quenched in vinegar seven times, 2 liang), Mozey (Equiseti Hiemalis Herba, cut into small pieces and stir-fried, 0.5 liang), Jiangtan (Zingiberis Rhizoma Praeparatum, processed), Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed, cracked, skin and navel removed, each [amount implied]).
The above eight herbs are pounded into powder, mixed with flour paste into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Each dose consists of 30 pills, taken with warm wine before meals.

Fulonggan (Caulis Longan, i.e., dried mud from the bottom of a cooking clay pot), Sangshang Jisheng (Taxillus growing on mulberry tree), Xuduan (Dipsaci Radix), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (each 1 liang), Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae, 3 fen), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and baked), Ejiao (Jiaojiao, Gelatinum Corii Asini, roasted until dry, each 1 liang).
The above nine herbs are coarsely crushed and sifted. Each dose consists of 5 qianbi, decocted with one and a half zhan of water, three slices of fresh ginger, and two split jujubes until reduced to 80%. Strain the dregs and take warm on an empty stomach before meals.

Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and baked), Sanggen Baipi (Mori Cortex, cut into small pieces), Xuduan (Dipsaci Radix), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (each 1 liang), Jiangtan (Zingiberis Rhizoma Praeparatum, processed, 0.5 liang).

Fengla (Beeswax, 1 qian).
The above single herb is decocted with two zhan of clear wine for three to five boils. Add the beeswax, let it settle slightly, and take.
