Discussion: When infants and children suffer from illness, their faces appear yellow, hair stands straight and is dry, they frequently experience high fever, food intake fails to nourish muscles, lumps form on the head and neck resembling tumors or growths. This condition is contracted due to "Wugu" (a pathogenic factor), hence it is named "Wugu Gan" (Innocent Malnutrition Syndrome).
