Discourse states: Water belongs to Yin, Fire belongs to Yang; water is the manifestation of Jing-Qi (Essence and Qi). Fire is the manifestation of Yang-Qi. Children's Jing-Qi is not yet abundant, and their constitution tends to be hot. If they wear too many clothes or are kept too warm, or overconsume hot-natured foods, or after suffering from epidemic Qi diseases where fluids are severely depleted, Yang-Qi becomes excessive, and Yin-Water fails to control Yang-Fire. Heat accumulates in the Fu and Zang organs, steaming and scorching the body. In severe cases, it may consume and erode the bone marrow, which is known as Bone-Heat disease. If prolonged without resolution, it transforms into Bone-Vapor disease.
