Commentary states: For those taking mineral stones (Rushi), nothing is more urgent than proper adaptation and care; among methods of care, none is prior to diet. There are foods that are suitable, those that must be avoided with caution, and preparations necessary to prevent impending illness. These are now specifically narrated.

[Diet Suitable for Those Taking Mineral Stones]
The above method: Take lard and pork meat; eating them three to five times a month is beneficial. Use heads and hooves of water buffalo, heads and hooves of white sheep, and pork to make Jiangchi (meat dish seasoned with ginger and fermented soybeans) for free consumption. Fruits such as pears and persimmons are suitable. Whenever one wishes to consume hot mutton or wheat-based foods, it is advisable to first eat three to five spoonfuls of cold rice to avoid adverse effects. After finishing hot food, quickly follow up with cold rice to neutralize the heat. Walking and relaxing afterwards is good. Among those taking stone drugs, some have a nature that favors wheat products and sour flavors and cannot restrain themselves. They should consume light bran vinegar, Baifei Zi Mian (purple flour noodles boiled repeatedly), and Shuimo Bing (water-molded cakes) without harm. Cold leek soup is highly nourishing and should be consumed frequently. Furthermore, although those taking stone drugs may drink alcohol, they should not drink excessively. Excessive drinking leads to a loss of taste perception in food, which results in inability to eat, leading to deficiency-heat. Deficiency-heat causes the stone drugs to flare up frequently with aversion to cold, and additionally damages the efficacy of the stone drugs. It is said that wine can suppress the stone drugs, causing wind-deficiency and weakness in the waist and legs. If one can both drink and eat well, it is excellent.

[Precautions and Taboos When Taking Mineral Stones]
The above method: Generally, when taking stone drugs, one must strictly avoid hot wheat noodles, white wine, old and rancid vinegar/sauce, meat from chickens, dogs, cattle, sheep, and pigs, abalone, smelly dried fish, and blood soup. Cold wine includes wines containing dregs/ash. Buckwheat, adzuki beans, and sesame seeds should be noted. In physical activities, one must strictly avoid moxibustion while hungry, bathing in hot water, feeling angry or resentful on an empty stomach in summer, passing through busy markets, entering mourning houses, crying, enduring hunger under heat, climbing into extremely filthy toilets, or associating with unclean women. Vegetables to avoid include turnip greens (Yuntai), coriander (Husui), Perilla seeds (Renjin), goji berries, mustard greens, and garlic. Fruits to avoid include plums, apricots, peaches, and pears. Medicinal herbs to avoid include Aconitum carmichaelii lateral root (Wutou), Aconitum carmichaelii lateral root prepared product (Fuzi), Aconitum kusnezoffii root (Tianxiong), and Xanthium strumarium fruit (Cang'er). All these should be considered carefully to ensure peace and health. Moreover, the precautions for taking stone drugs are extremely difficult; if one cannot manage them properly, it is better not to take them at all, because diseases such as fracture-like sensations, brain splitting, breast swelling, and body edema often arise from this cause.

[Post-Taking Precautions]
[Recipe for Purple Flour Noodles]
The above method: Take black soybeans in any quantity, boil to obtain a thick decoction, and use it instead of water to mix flour. Prepare the noodles according to normal methods, then return them to this bean juice to cook thoroughly. If dry, add bean juice, do not add water. Wait until cooked, then add pig, sheep, and mung beans to eat. Mixing with sweet potatoes (Shanyu) to make noodles is particularly good.

[Another Recipe for Water-Molded Cakes]
The above method: When making cakes, before placing the raw dough in the mold, smear water on the surface of the raw cake to ensure it pops/bursts inside and out. Do not eat Hu Bing (sesame flatbread) or Shao Bing (baked cakes), as they cause severe heat stagnation.

[Another Recipe for Suitable Wheat Cakes]
The above method: Take flour and mix it like normal cake preparation, cut finely into pieces the size of small beans, and toss in a winnowing basket with flour to form pill-like shapes. Boil until very soft, drain and place in cold water, drain again and place in a plate, toss again with starch powder to round them. Put into a pot and boil until very soft. While hot, consume with any five-flavor sauces and various meats. This food is greatly cooling, tonifies the waist and legs, and does not conflict with medications.

[Another Formula]
The above method: Take newly harvested barley, grind into flour, mix with meat broth, or make into cakes for consumption; this is very good. Also, steam ripe barley to make cakes and mix with black beans for consumption; this is also good. In summer, when traveling far under heat, if dinner is late and one feels hungry, the stone drugs will inevitably activate. It is advisable to make barley cakes; eat them when hungry before setting off. This effectively suppresses the stone drugs and treats hunger.

[Treating Activation of Mineral Stones: Chills, Tremors, and Inability to Support Oneself Due to Low Food Intake. The drug qi overflows into the skin and muscles, the five zang organs lose order, the hundred vessels tremble, and they contend with the healthy qi.]
The above method: It is advisable to forcibly drink hot wine to harmonize the vessel-drug qi, forcibly eat to stabilize the zang organs. Forcefully move to regulate the joints, and forcibly bathe to disperse stagnation.
