Discussion states: The so-called Qi Zhu (Qi Injection) refers to pathogenic factors transmitting and lodging in the Lung. The Lung governs Qi and circulates through the exterior and interior. If transmitted by Zhu Qi (Injecting Qi), the disease wanders along with the movement of Qi, causing impact and pulling pain, upward rushing asthma and urgency, inability to take food and drink; this is the manifestation of Qi Zhu.
To treat all types of Qi Zhu, as well as constipation and astringency of the Large Intestine, stabbing pain in the back and shoulders, Qi Zhu affecting the four limbs, indigestion, and rebellious Qi of Ben Tun (Rushing Pig), use the Nongpo Wan (Magnolia Bark Pill) formula.
Nongpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, remove coarse bark, stir-fry with ginger juice, 3 liang); Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, remove coarse bark); Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, chop, stir-fry with vinegar, each 2 liang); Taoren (Persicae Semen, soak in hot water, remove skin and pointed end, stir-fry double-kernel ones, 3 liang).
The above four herbs are crushed, sifted into fine powder, mixed evenly, and made into pills with refined honey, sized like small beans. Take 30 pills per dose, washed down with rice water, taken after meals and before going to bed. Slight diarrhea indicates efficacy. Another version adds Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, 1 liang, split, remove skin and navel).
To treat stabbing pain caused by Qi Zhu, use the Bai Wuyi San (White Melia Powder) formula.
Bai Wuyi (Meliae Toosendan Fructus, slightly stir-fry); Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed until cracked, remove skin and navel); Bai Binglang (Arecae Semen, baked and chopped); Chenjupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, soak in hot water, remove white pith, bake); Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed).
The above nine flavors (Note: text lists five, claims nine), crushed and ground into powder. Take 3 qian bi per dose, mixed with hot wine on an empty stomach.
To treat Qi Zhu leading to emaciation, long-standing stagnation, chest fullness and痞 (obstruction), vomiting of food, retention of old food, and wind-stroke Gui Zhu (Ghost Injection), use the Qianjin Wan (Thousand Gold Pill) formula.
Yege (Stramonii Fructus, roasted, 4 cun); Banmao (Mylabris, 10 pieces, remove wings and feet, stir-fry); Xionghuang (Realgar, ground); Cihuang (Orpiment, ground); Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed); Jiubai (Dahuriae Rhizome, remove hairs, slightly stir-fry); Dan (Gall, note: text incomplete here); The above thirteen flavors (Note: text lists fewer, claims thirteen), crushed, sifted into fine powder, made into pills with refined honey, sized like small beans. Take 5 pills per dose, washed down with wine, twice daily. For sudden attack of evil qi, fainting and unconsciousness, take 2 pills; for elderly and children, take 1 pill. For injuries from trampling by cattle or horses, bites by pigs or dogs, carbuncles swollen as if bitten by insects/poison, take 1 pill, place in palm, mix with saliva, apply to wound/toxic area; immediate cure. On the first day of the first lunar month, take with wine. Each adult and child in the household takes 1 pill; one will not fall ill throughout the year. If visiting patients, take 1 pill beforehand for best results.
