Long-standing cold-induced five types of hemorrhoids with hematochezia, moxibustion at Jizhong (GV14) for 100 moxa cones.
For the concurrent occurrence of the five types of hemorrhoids, Zanzhu (BL2) is indicated.
For pain caused by the five types of hemorrhoids accompanied by obstruction of urination and defecation, Huiyin (CV1) is indicated.
For the five types of hemorrhoids with hematochezia and fecal incontinence, moxibustion at Huiqi (EX-B3) for 100 moxa cones; this acupoint is located above the coccyx.
For bone erosion caused by the five types of hemorrhoids, Shangqiu (SP5) is indicated.
For hemorrhoid pain, Feiyang (BL58), Chengjin (BL57), Weizhong (BL40), and Chengfu (BL36) are indicated.
For various hemorrhoids and carbuncles, moxibustion at Huiqi (EX-B3) for 21 (3x7) moxa cones. The *Huangdi Zhenjing* states: "The point is located 1.5 cun above the tip of the coccyx." Additionally, Lianggang (EX-B4) is indicated, located 3 cun lateral to Huiqi on both sides, each receiving 21 moxa cones.
Fa Bei (Back Carbuncle) typically arises between the two scapulae on the back. Initially, it resembles a millet grain, presenting with pain or itching and redness. If untreated, it enlarges daily and can be fatal within ten days. Those skilled in health preservation should, upon feeling slight itching or pain on the back, immediately take clean earth, mix it with water to form a cake, approximately 0.2 cun thick and 1.5 cun wide. Using coarse mugwort cones placed over the mud cake applied directly to the lesion, perform moxibustion, replacing one cake per cone. When the lesion is the size of a millet grain, seven cakes may be used; when the size of a elm seed, forty-nine cakes; when the size of a coin, continuous day-and-night moxibustion without limit on the number of cakes is permitted. Concurrently, administer Wuxiang Liaoqiao Tang (Five-Spice Forsythia Decoction) and Tiejiang (Iron Slag Water) to attack the pathogenic factors.
When any carbuncle or ulcer first appears, whether small or large, or as minute as a rice grain, these are subtle signs requiring urgent treatment. In the absence of medicinal resources, moxibustion should be performed at the center of the lesion for 100 cones (another source suggests 700-800 cones). For severe and extensive cases, moxibustion should be applied to the four quadrants and the center, totaling 200-300 cones. It is also appropriate to use fire needling to penetrate 0.4 cun into the center.
When Ju (deep-seated abscess) suddenly affects the tendons of the five fingers, causing stiffness and inability to flex or extend, moxibustion at the center of the ankle bone for dozens to 100 cones is indicated. For Fa Bei (Back Carbuncle), whether ulcerated or not, use 3 sheng of Fermented Soybean (Douchi), mix with water, pound into a paste, and form cakes 0.3 cun thick. Do not cover existing ulcers. Place the bean cake on the lesion, arrange mugwort cones on top, and moxibustate until warm but not burning the skin. If painful or too hot, replace immediately. Perform twice daily. For suppurating lesions, continue until exudate flows from the ulcer. For axillary abscess with high fever, apply five punctures to the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel; if fever persists, apply three punctures to the Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Channel. Carbuncles and ulcers must not be delayed even for an instant. If the location of a carbuncle is unknown, unresponsive to palpation, and pain comes and goes intermittently, puncture three times on the lateral side of the Hand-Taiyin Lung Channel and twice on Yingmai (Jugular Vein).
To treat swelling and carbuncles, puncture the lesion directly. Assess the size and depth; for larger lesions, puncture deeply and frequently, ensuring the needle is inserted straight.
For neck swelling preventing flexion and extension, and cheek swelling radiating to behind the ear, Wanggu (GB12) is indicated.
For throat swelling causing difficulty in speech, Tianzhu (BL10) is indicated.
For lip swelling and carbuncle, Quanliao (SI18) is indicated.
For cheek swelling and pain, Tianchuang (SI16) is indicated.
For neck and nape swelling preventing speech, Tianrong (SI17) is indicated.
For fullness and pain below the chest, and anterior chest swelling, Rugen (ST18) is indicated.
For Madao swelling (scrofula/chain-like lumps), Yuanye (GB24), Zhangmen (LR13), and Zhigou (SJ6) are indicated.
For facial swelling and eye abscess, puncture Xian Gu (ST43) to bleed; symptoms will cease immediately.
For carbuncles and ulcers, Qiaoyin (GB11) is indicated.
For large-scale spreading sores on the head (Jin Yin), Jianshi (PC5) is indicated.
For Guan Ju (neck abscess), Shangqiu (SP5) is indicated.
For Chang Yong (Intestinal Abscess), moxibustion at the tips of both elbows posteriorly, 7 cones each side, same for left and right; additionally, moxibustion at the space between the big toes of both feet, 3 cones each, which also treats various swelling diseases.
For Intestinal Abscess, flex elbows forward, moxibustion at the sharp bone of the elbow heads, 100 cones each; discharge of pus and blood leads to recovery.
For adult and pediatric carbuncles and swellings, moxibustion at Qizhong (EX-LE5) on the lateral aspect of the big toe of both feet, treating according to the affected side.
