论曰脾与胃合俱象土。外荣肌肉，腐熟水谷。风寒暑湿袭于外，则留连肌腠。传于脾胃
。食饮不节害于内。则肠胃乃伤，不化糟粕。皆能为病，所得之源不一。故立名多端。且久
风入中则为飧泄。湿胜则为濡写。寒中则为洞泄，暑胜则为毒痢。而又或冷、或热、或赤、
或白、或色杂、或肠垢、或滞下、或休息、或疳、或蛊之类。种种不同。悉由将摄失宜。饮
食不慎，致肠胃不调。邪气交攻。施治之方。则有宜调补。宜攻化。宜收敛。宜渗泄。各随
所宜以用之。
论曰内经谓诸厥固泄，皆属于下，暴注下迫，皆属于热，盖为冷热不调，气不相济也，
脾胃怯弱，水谷不分，湿饮留滞，水走肠间，禁固不能，故令人腹胀下利，有如注水之状，
谓之注泄，世名水泻。
治水泻不止。木香散方
青木香 黄连（去须炒各一两） 诃黎勒皮（微炒三分） 龙骨（半两） 浓朴（去粗
皮生姜汁炙令紫锉三分）
上五味，捣罗为散，每服三钱匕，空心以粥饮调下，日午再服，以瘥为度，小儿以意加
减服之。
治一切水泻。及冷痢。浓朴散方
浓朴（去粗皮生姜汁炙令紫锉一两） 干姜（半生半炮裂一两） 陈橘皮（汤浸去白焙
三分） 白术（
上五味，捣罗为散，每服三钱匕，空心米饮调下，如霍乱吐泻，新汲水调下，日晚再服
治水泻肠鸣。脐腹撮痛。代赭丸方

上四味，捣罗为末，研软饭和丸，如梧桐子大，每服三十丸，空心米饮下，日午再服。
治水泻无度，肠鸣腹痛，肉豆蔻散方
肉豆蔻（去壳为末一两） 生姜（汁二合） 白面（二两）
上三味。将姜汁和面作饼子。裹豆蔻末，煨令黄熟，研为细散，每服二钱匕，空心米饮
调下，日午再服。
治水泻不止。 砂丸方
砂（研） 石硫黄（研各一分） 铅丹（研半两） 巴豆（去皮心出油尽一十四枚）
上四味，先将巴豆霜研细，入诸药同研细，用糯米饭为丸，如小豆粒大。水泻、新汲水
下一丸。赤白痢、煎干姜甘草汤放冷下一丸。吐泻、煎生姜木瓜汤放冷下一丸。白痢煎干姜
汤放冷下一丸。不拘时候。
治暴注水泻。日夜无度。斗门散方
橡斗子（去刺） 诃黎勒（煨去核） 黄连（去须）
上三味等分，捣罗为散，每服一钱匕，米饮调下，食前。
治水泻不止。木香丸方
木香（一钱） 草乌头（生去皮脐半两） 肉豆蔻（一枚大者去壳） 胡粉（半两研） 巴
豆（大者七枚去
上五味，捣罗为细末，合研匀，糯米软饭和丸，如黍米大，每服三丸，小儿一丸，并用
冷莱菔汤下。
治水泻不止。黑神丸方
巴豆（一枚去皮心膜不出油） 杏仁（七枚去双仁皮尖炒） 铛墨（一钱）
上三味，同研极细，以糯米粥和丸，如秫米大，每服一丸，冷水下立止，甚者再服一丸
治水泻不止。立效丸方
铅丹（炒半钱） 草乌头（一枚炮裂去脐皮） 巴豆（三粒去皮心膜出油尽研）
上三味，先捣乌头为末，与二味同研极匀，以面糊和丸，如绿豆大，每服一丸，煎陈粟
米甘草乌梅汤放温冷下。
治水泻、杏仁丸方
杏仁（汤浸去双仁皮尖七粒） 砒霜末 铛墨 巴豆霜（各一钱）
上四味，同研，枣肉和丸，如粟米大，临卧新汲水下一丸。
治水泻白痢，小腹疼痛，玉霜丸方
砒霜（研细如粉二两） 黄蜡（一两）
上二味，以瓷碗盛，重汤煮熔开，以东南柳枝二七茎，各长七寸，粗细如箸，每用两茎
搅药，又转一头搅，候两头并黑黄色乃已。又取两茎，根据前搅七次了，将出药趁软，作条子
收。遇病旋于火上烘软，丸如梧桐子大，小儿绿豆大，空心新汲水下一丸。
治水泻肠鸣。针头丸方
巴豆（一枚去皮膜） 杏仁（一枚去皮尖二味皆针扎火上燎令存性）
上二味，同细研，约三百转。入大豆末一字，再研一百转，面糊和丸，如针头大，每服
一丸，新汲水下。
治水泻。并赤白痢。如圣丸方
乌头（端正大者炮裂去皮脐） 绿豆
上二味等分，捣罗为末，新水和丸，如绿豆大，以丹砂为衣，每服五丸，白痢煎干姜汤
下。赤痢煎甘草汤下，赤白痢煎干姜甘草汤下，水泻用新汲水下，小儿一两丸，不计时候。
治水泻方
上用青州干枣十枚，去核入莨菪子填满，以麻缠却，用炭火烧令烟尽，研令细，每服一
钱半匕，煎陈粟米稀粥饮调下。
治水泻肠滑，气虚久冷。如圣丸方
干姜（炮） 高良姜 胡椒 蜀椒（去目并闭口炒出汗）
上四味等分，捣罗为末，醋煮面糊和丸，如梧桐子大，每服三十丸，早晨空心食前粥饮
下。
治水泻不止，伤冷虚极。黄蜡丸方
硫黄（一两）
上一味，研细，先熔黄蜡，入硫黄末打匀，丸如梧桐子大，每服五丸，新汲水下。
治水泻诃黎勒丸方
上取诃黎勒，不拘多少，以面裹，灰火内炮令赤黄，剥去面，取诃黎勒皮，捣罗为末，
软饭和丸，如梧桐子大，每服二十丸，米饮下，空腹食前。
治暴水泻不止。浓朴散方
浓朴（去粗皮生姜汁炙锉） 诃黎勒皮（各一两） 甘草（炙锉） 黄连（去须微炒） 肉
豆蔻（去壳） 白
上八味，捣罗为散，每服二钱匕，温米饮调下。
治脾胃虚冷，肠滑水泻，如休息痢不止。木香丸方

上八味，捣罗为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大，每日空心米饮下三十丸，日晚再服。
治水泻。芜荑丸方
芜荑（炒） 黄连（去须炒） 吴茱荑（汤洗焙干炒各三两） 干姜（炮一两） 枳壳
（去瓤麸炒半两） 缩
上六味，捣罗为末，煮浆水饭和丸，如梧桐子大。每服二十丸，温米饮下。
治水泻肠滑不禁。诃黎勒丸方
诃黎勒（二两以面裹煨去复选皮并面为末） 干姜（炮） 龙骨 赤石脂（各一两）
上四味，捣罗为末，以稀面糊丸。如梧桐子大，每服空心、以米饮下二十丸。
治水泻吐哕，遍身疼痛。诃黎勒丸方
诃称勒（煨去核） 鹿茸（酥炙去毛） 桑根白皮（锉） 地榆 赤石脂 天雄（炮裂
去皮脐） 龙骨各（一两半） 白芷 黄连（去须） 桂（去粗皮） 浓朴（去粗皮涂生姜

上一十六味，捣罗为末，烂饭为丸，如梧桐子大，每服三十丸，温米饮下。
治水泻腹痛。日夜不止。正气散方
缩砂蜜（去皮炒） 附子（炮裂去皮脐） 赤石脂 肉豆蔻（去壳） 龙骨 石榴皮（焙）
甘草（炙锉）
上一十二味，捣罗为散，每服三钱匕，煮粳米饮调下，不拘时。以止为度。
治水泻、米谷不化，昼夜不止。白垩丸方
白垩（一两火 过） 干姜（炮一两） 楮叶（二两生细研）
上三味，捣研为末，面糊和丸，如绿豆大、空心米饮下二十丸。
又方
取黄荆叶，不限多少，阴干捣罗为散，每服以米饮调下三钱匕。
又方
取羊蹄根晒干，刮去皮，捣罗为散，每服以米饮调下三钱匕。
又方
取熟艾半斤，慢火炒令热。布裹坐之。冷再炒坐。
Commentary states: The Spleen and Stomach are combined, their image corresponds to Earth. Externally, they nourish the muscles; internally, they rot and cook food and drink. If Wind, Cold, Summer-heat, or Dampness invade from the exterior, they linger in the muscle-cou li (interstices of skin and muscle) and transmit to the Spleen and Stomach. If eating and drinking are irregular and harm the interior, the Intestines and Stomach are injured and fail to transform residues into feces. All these can cause disease, but the sources of acquisition are not uniform, hence there are many names for them. For instance, long-standing Wind entering the center leads to Sundry Diarrhea (diarrhea with undigested food); excessive Dampness leads to Ru Xie (loose, watery stool); Cold invading the interior leads to Dong Xie (urgent diarrhea); excessive Summer-heat leads to Du Li (severe dysentery). Furthermore, there are cases of cold or heat, red or white discharge, mixed colors, intestinal mucus, tenesmus, intermittent dysentery, infantile malnutrition (Gan), or gu poison, among others. These vary greatly. All arise from improper care, imprudent diet, leading to dysfunction of the Intestines and Stomach and attacking by pathogenic factors. In treatment, some formulas are suitable for tonifying and regulating, some for purging and transforming, some for astringing, and some for leaching out dampness. Each should be used according to what is appropriate.
Commentary states: The *Nei Jing* (Inner Canon) states: "All cases of Jue (reversal), obstruction, and leakage belong to the Lower Jiao," and "Sudden pouring diarrhea with urgency belongs to Heat." This is likely due to the imbalance of Cold and Heat and the failure of Qi to coordinate. If the Spleen and Stomach are weak and deficient, water and grain cannot be separated; Dampness and fluid retention stagnate, water flows into the intestines, and control is lost, causing abdominal distension and diarrhea resembling pouring water. This is called Zhu Xie (pouring diarrhea), commonly known as Shui Xie (Water Diarrhea).
To treat persistent Water Diarrhea. Muxiang San Formula: Qingmuxiang 1 liang, Huanglian (remove whiskers, stir-fry) 1 liang, Helilepi (slightly stir-fry) 3 qian, Longgu 0.5 liang, Houpo (remove rough bark, stir-fry with ginger juice until purple, cut into pieces) 3 qian. The above five herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Take 3 qian bi per dose, mixed with porridge broth on an empty stomach, and take again at noon. Continue until cured. Adjust dosage for children as appropriate.
To treat all types of Water Diarrhea and Cold Dysentery. Houpo San Formula: Houpo (remove rough bark, stir-fry with ginger juice until purple, cut into pieces) 1 liang, Ganjiang (half raw, half roasted/cracked) 1 liang, Chenjupi (soak in hot water, remove white pith, bake dry) 3 qian, Baizhu 1 liang. The above five herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Take 3 qian bi per dose, mixed with rice broth on an empty stomach. If accompanied by Huoluan vomiting and diarrhea, mix with fresh well water. Take again in the evening.
To treat Water Diarrhea with borborygmus and cramping pain in the umbilical and abdominal region. Daizhe Wan Formula: Daizhechi (red) 1 liang, Ganjiang (roasted) 1 liang, Longgu 1 liang, Fuzi (roasted/cracked, remove skin and navel) 3 qian. The above four herbs are crushed, sifted into fine powder. Mix with soft rice to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 30 pills per dose with rice broth on an empty stomach, and take again at noon.
To treat severe Water Diarrhea with borborygmus and abdominal pain. Roudoukou San Formula: Roudoukou (remove shell, grind to powder) 1 liang, Shengjiang juice 2 he, Baifan 2 liang. The above three ingredients: mix ginger juice and flour to make cakes. Wrap the Roudoukou powder inside. Roast in fire until yellow and cooked. Grind into fine powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, mixed with rice broth on an empty stomach, and take again at noon.
To treat persistent Water Diarrhea. Sha Wan Formula: Zhusha (grind) 1 fen, Shiliuhuang (grind) 1 fen, Qiandan (grind) 0.5 liang, Badou (remove shell and heart, exhaust oil) 14 grains. The above four herbs: first grind Badou frost finely, then mix with other medicines and grind finely. Use glutinous rice flour to form pills the size of small beans. For Water Diarrhea, take one pill with fresh well water. For Red and White Dysentery, take one pill with cooled decoction of Ganjiang and Gancao. For Vomiting and Diarrhea, take one pill with cooled decoction of Shengjiang and Mugua. For White Dysentery, take one pill with cooled decoction of Ganjiang. Take at any time.
To treat sudden pouring Water Diarrhea, day and night without limit. Doumen San Formula: Xiangdouzi (remove thorns), Helile (roast, remove pit), Huanglian (remove whiskers). The above three herbs in equal parts are crushed, sifted into powder. Take 1 qian bi per dose, mixed with rice broth before meals.
To treat persistent Water Diarrhea. Muxiang Wan Formula: Muxiang 1 qian, Caowutou (raw, remove skin and navel) 0.5 liang, Roudoukou (one large, remove shell), Hufen 0.5 liang (grind), Badou (seven large ones, remove shell and membrane, exhaust oil). The above five herbs are crushed, sifted into fine powder, mixed evenly. Form pills with soft glutinous rice flour, the size of millet seeds. Take 3 pills per dose, 1 pill for children. Take with cold Radish soup.
To treat persistent Water Diarrhea. Heishen Wan Formula: Badou (one, remove shell, heart, and membrane, do not release oil), Xingren (seven, remove double kernels, skin, and tips, stir-fry), Dangmo 1 qian. The above three herbs are ground extremely fine. Mix with glutinous rice congee to form pills the size of sorghum grains. Take one pill per dose with cold water; it stops immediately. For severe cases, take another pill.
To treat persistent Water Diarrhea. Lixiao Wan Formula: Qiandan (stir-fry) 0.5 qian, Caowutou (one, roast/crack, remove navel and skin), Badou (three grains, remove shell, heart, membrane, exhaust oil, grind). The above three herbs: first grind Wutou into powder, then mix with the other two and grind extremely uniformly. Form pills with wheat paste, the size of mung beans. Take one pill per dose with warm-cooled decoction of aged millet, Gancao, and Wumei.
To treat Water Diarrhea. Xingren Wan Formula: Xingren (soak in hot water, remove double kernels, skin, and tips) 7 grains, Pishuang powder 1 qian, Dangmo 1 qian, Badoushuang 1 qian. The above four herbs are ground together. Mix with jujube flesh to form pills the size of millet grains. Take one pill before bed with fresh well water.
To treat Water Diarrhea with White Dysentery and lower abdominal pain. Yushuang Wan Formula: Pishuang (grind fine like powder) 2 liang, Huangla 1 liang. The above two ingredients: place in a porcelain bowl, melt over boiling water. Take 14 willow branches from the southeast direction, each 7 cun long, thickness like chopsticks. Use two sticks to stir the medicine, then flip and stir again, until both ends turn black-yellow. Take two more sticks and stir seven times as before. Remove the medicine while hot, shape into strips, and store. When needed, soften over fire, form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds (mung bean size for children). Take one pill on an empty stomach with fresh well water.
To treat Water Diarrhea with borborygmus. Zhentou Wan Formula: Badou (one, remove skin and membrane), Xingren (one, remove skin and tips). Both herbs should be pricked with needles and roasted over fire until preserved nature remains. The above two herbs are finely ground about 300 turns. Add a pinch of soybean powder, grind another 100 turns. Form pills with wheat paste, the size of a needle head. Take one pill per dose with fresh well water.
To treat Water Diarrhea and Red/White Dysentery. Rusheng Wan Formula: Wutou (large and straight, roast/crack, remove skin and navel), Lvdou. Equal parts of the above two herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Mix with fresh water to form pills the size of mung beans, coated with Cinnabar. Take 5 pills per dose. For White Dysentery, take with Ganjiang decoction. For Red Dysentery, take with Gancao decoction. For Red/White Dysentery, take with Ganjiang-Gancao decoction. For Water Diarrhea, take with fresh well water. Children take 1-2 pills at any time.
To treat Water Diarrhea: Take 10 dried Jiaozao from Qingzhou, remove pits, fill with Langdangzi, wrap with hemp thread. Burn with charcoal until smoke ceases. Grind fine. Take 1.5 qian bi per dose, mixed with aged millet thin porridge broth.
To treat Water Diarrhea with intestinal slipping, Qi deficiency, and chronic cold. Rusheng Wan Formula: Ganjiang (roasted), Gaoliangjiang, Hujiao, Shujiao (remove eyes and closed mouths, stir-fry to sweat). Equal parts of the above four herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Mix with vinegar-boiled wheat paste to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 30 pills per dose in the morning on an empty stomach before meals with porridge broth.
To treat persistent Water Diarrhea due to Cold injury and extreme deficiency. Huangla Wan Formula: Liuhuang 1 liang. Grind the single herb finely. First melt Huangla, mix in Liuhuang powder evenly. Form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 5 pills per dose with fresh well water.
To treat Water Diarrhea. Helile Wan Formula: Take Helile, any amount. Wrap in flour, roast in ash fire until red-yellow. Peel off flour. Take Helile peel, crush, sift into powder. Mix with soft rice to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 20 pills per dose with rice broth on an empty stomach before meals.
To treat violent persistent Water Diarrhea. Houpo San Formula: Houpo (remove rough bark, stir-fry with ginger juice, cut), Helilepi 1 liang, Gancao (roast, cut), Huanglian (remove whiskers, slightly stir-fry), Roudoukou (remove shell), Baizhu 1 liang. The above eight herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, mixed with warm rice broth.
To treat Spleen/Stomach deficiency-cold, intestinal slipping Water Diarrhea, and persistent intermittent dysentery. Muxiang Wan Formula: Muxiang, Bai'e (fire calcined), Roudoukou ren, Dingxiang 0.5 liang each, Ganjiang (roasted), Helile (roast, take peel), Longgu 1 liang each, Huanglian 1 liang. The above eight herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 30 pills on an empty stomach with rice broth daily, and take again in the evening.
To treat Water Diarrhea. Wuyi Wan Formula: Wuyi (stir-fry), Huanglian (remove whiskers, stir-fry), Wuzhuyu (wash in hot water, bake dry, stir-fry) 3 liang each, Ganjiang (roasted) 1 liang, Zhiqiao (remove pulp, bran-stir-fry) 0.5 liang, Suosha mi 1 liang. The above six herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Mix with fermented rice water congee to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 20 pills per dose with warm rice broth.
To treat Water Diarrhea with uncontrollable intestinal slipping. Helile Wan Formula: Helile (2 liang, wrap in flour, roast thoroughly, remove outer skin and flour, grind to powder), Ganjiang (roasted), Longgu, Chishizhi 1 liang each. The above four herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Form pills with thin wheat paste, the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 20 pills on an empty stomach with rice broth.
To treat Water Diarrhea with vomiting/belching and body-wide pain. Helile Wan Formula: Helile (roast, remove pit), Lurong (vinegar-roast, remove hair), Sanggenbaipi (cut), Diyü, Chishizhi, Tianxiong (roast/crack, remove skin and navel), Longgu 1.5 liang each, Baizhi, Huanglian (remove whiskers), Gui (remove rough bark), Houpo (remove rough bark, coat with ginger juice, stir-fry), Baimaogen, Danggui (slice, bake dry) 1 liang each, Huangqin (remove black heart), Ganjiang (roast/crack) 0.5 liang each, Roudoukou (remove shell) 4 grains. The above sixteen herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Mix with mashed rice to form pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Take 30 pills per dose with warm rice broth.
To treat Water Diarrhea with abdominal pain, day and night without stopping. Zhengqi San Formula: Suosha mi (remove skin, stir-fry), Fuzi (roast/crack, remove skin and navel), Chishizhi, Roudoukou (remove shell), Longgu, Shiliupi (bake dry), Gancao (roast, cut). The above twelve herbs are crushed, sifted into powder. Take 3 qian bi per dose, mixed with boiled Japonica rice broth. Take at any time. Stop when diarrhea ceases.
To treat Water Diarrhea with undigested food, day and night without stopping. Bai'e Wan Formula: Bai'e (1 liang, fire calcined), Ganjiang (roasted 1 liang), Chuye (2 liang, raw, finely ground). The above three herbs are crushed and ground into powder. Form pills with wheat paste, the size of mung beans. Take 20 pills on an empty stomach with rice broth.
Another formula: Take Huangjing leaves, any amount. Dry in shade, crush, sift into powder. Take 3 qian bi per dose, mixed with rice broth.
Another formula: Take Yangti root, dry in sun, scrape off skin, crush, sift into powder. Take 3 qian bi per dose, mixed with rice broth.
Another formula: Take 0.5 jin of prepared Aiye. Stir-fry slowly over low heat until hot. Wrap in cloth and sit on it. Reheat when cool and sit again.
