It is stated in the discussion: The *Neijing* (Inner Canon) mentions that contracting wind pathogen after drinking alcohol leads to "Lou Feng" (Sweating Disorder due to Wind). The manifestations of Lou Feng include excessive sweating, such that one often cannot wear single-layer clothing; sweating occurs upon eating; and in severe cases, the body feels cold and there is panting.
For treating body heat, fatigue, profuse sweating like bathing, aversion to wind, and shortness of breath caused by wind pathogen contracted after drinking, use the **Zexie San** (Alisma Powder) formula:
*Zexiae Rhizoma* (Alisma), *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Caulis Atractylodis Macrocephalae) [Note: Standard term is Bai Zhu], each 2 liang 5 qian; *Dipnatis Herba* (Elsholtzia/Herba Dipnatis) [Note: Mi Xian usually refers to Elsholtzia or similar, WHO standard for 麋衔 is not strictly unified, often translated as Herb of Dipnatis or similar], 1 liang 1 fen (crushed).
The above three herbs are pounded, sifted into a powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, mixed with boiling water, taken after meals.
For treating continuous sweating due to wind deficiency, use the **Qinjiao San** (Gentian Powder) formula:
*Gentianae Radix et Rhizoma* (Radix Gentianae Macrophyllae), *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Prepared Lateral Root of Aconite), *Dendrobii Caulis* (Stem of Dendrobium), *Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma* (Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii), *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma*, *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Cinnamon Twig), each 3 fen (bark removed); *Ephedrae Radix et Rhizoma* (Root of Ephedra) [Note: Text says 'Ma', likely incomplete, context suggests Ma Huang Gen or similar, but literal is Ma].
The above eight herbs are pounded, sifted into a fine powder. Take 1 qian bi per dose, taken with warm wine, three times daily.
For treating excessive sweating due to wind deficiency, especially severe at night where bedding and clothes become soaked, use the **Huangqi Tang** (Astragalus Decoction) formula:
*Astragali Radix* (Radix Astragali Membranacei), *Ginseng Radix* (Radix Ginseng), each 2 liang; *Ephedrae Radix et Rhizoma* (Root of Ephedra) [Likely Ma Huang Gen based on context]; *Ostreae Concha* (Concha Ostreae), each 3 liang; *Lycii Cortex Radicis* (Cortex Lycii Chinensis), 2 liang 5 qian; *Os Draconis* (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi).
The above six herbs are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take 3 qian bi per dose, with one cup of water and one broken jujube, decoct together. Strain to obtain 60% of the liquid, take on an empty stomach, three times daily.
For treating excessive sweating and aversion to wind due to wind deficiency, use the **Fangfeng San** (Saposhnikovia Powder) formula:
*Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Radix Saposhnikoviae), 1 liang 1 fen; *Zexiae Rhizoma*; *Ostreae Concha*; *Cinnamomi Ramulus*, each 3 fen (bark removed).
The above four herbs are pounded, sifted into a fine powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, mixed with warm wine, taken on an empty stomach, twice daily.
For treating continuous sweating due to wind deficiency, use the **Guixin San** (Cinnamon Heart Powder) formula:
*Cinnamomi Ramulus* (bark removed), *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma*, *Gentianae Radix et Rhizoma*, *Dendrobii Caulis*, *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata*, each 3 fen.
The above five herbs are pounded, sifted into a fine powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, mixed with warm wine, taken on an empty stomach.
For treating excessive sweating, aversion to wind, and tremors due to wind deficiency, use the **Zexie San** (Alisma Powder) formula:
*Zexiae Rhizoma*, *Saposhnikoviae Radix*, *Ostreae Concha*, *Atractylodis Rhizoma* (soaked in rice wash water, peeled, stir-fried), each 1 liang; *Cinnamomi Ramulus*, 3 fen (bark removed).
The above five herbs are pounded, sifted into a fine powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, mixed with warm porridge drink, at any time.
For treating sweating with severe heat and stifling sensation due to wind deficiency, use the **Renshen San** (Ginseng Powder) formula:
*Ginseng Radix*, 2 liang; *Ostreae Concha*, 1 liang 5 qian; *Gypsum Fibrosum*, 3 liang (crushed); *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (roasted and crushed), 1 liang.
The above four herbs are pounded, sifted into a fine powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, taken with warm wine, at any time.
For treating continuous sweating due to wind deficiency, use the **Shigao San** (Gypsum Powder) formula:
*Gypsum Fibrosum* (crushed), *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (roasted and crushed), *Atractylodis Rhizoma* (soaked in rice wash water, peeled, crushed, stir-fried until slightly yellow), *Ephedrae Radix et Rhizoma* (Root of Ephedra/Ma Huang Gen), each 1 liang.
The above four herbs are pounded into a fine powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, mixed with sour grain water (jiang shui), taken before meals, three times daily and twice at night.
For treating excessive sweating due to wind deficiency, especially severe at night, use the **Duzhong San** (Eucommia Powder) formula:
*Eucommiae Cortex* (peeled, roasted, crushed), 2 liang; *Astragali Radix* (crushed); *Ostreae Concha*, each 3 liang; *Ephedrae Radix et Rhizoma* (Root of Ephedra/Ma Huang Gen), 5 liang.
The above four herbs are pounded, sifted into a fine powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, mixed with decoction from old fans, taken after meals, twice daily.
For treating extreme deficiency with profuse sweating approaching death, specifically for spontaneous continuous sweating, use the **Mahuanggen San Fen** (Ephedra Root Powder) formula:
*Ephedrae Radix et Rhizoma* (Root of Ephedra/Ma Huang Gen), *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata*, *Ostreae Concha*, equal parts.
The above three herbs are pounded, sifted into a fine powder. Take 1 liang, mix evenly with 1 sheng of white millet flour. Apply the powder to the sweating areas.
For treating excessive sweating due to wind deficiency, use the **Muli San Fen** (Oyster Shell Powder) formula:
*Ostreae Concha*, 2 liang; *Ephedrae Radix et Rhizoma* (Root of Ephedra/Ma Huang Gen), 3 liang.
The above two herbs are pounded, sifted into a fine powder, placed in a silk bag, and applied to the body. Apply 3-5 times daily; apply when sweating, stop when not sweating.
For treating excessive sweating and shortness of breath due to wind deficiency, use the **Muli Baizhu San** (Oyster-Bai Zhu Powder) formula:
*Ostreae Concha*, 3 liang; *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma*, 2 liang 1 fen; *Saposhnikoviae Radix*, 2 liang 5 qian.
The above three herbs are pounded, sifted into a fine powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose, mixed with warm water, at any time. Increase Fangfeng if aversion to wind worsens; increase Baizhu if shortness of breath worsens; increase Muli if sweating is excessive and facial swelling occurs.
For treating deficient sweating, use the **Mahuanggen San** (Ephedra Root Powder) formula:
*Ephedrae Radix et Rhizoma* (Root of Ephedra/Ma Huang Gen), 1 liang 5 qian; *Usta Frusta* (Ash of old fan), 0.5 liang.
