Discussion states: When a dog injures a person without physical contact, it is referred to as a mad dog (Kuangquan). Generally, in late spring and early summer, dogs are prone to madness. If accidentally bitten, the treatment principle favors moxibustion: apply one hundred Zhuang initially, then one Zhuang daily thereafter. Only after completing this regimen for one hundred days without omission can one be spared from the affliction. If the wound appears healed, pain has ceased, and the area has flattened, this indicates that the toxin remains within the body; death will occur soon, day or night. This harm is extremely severe, yet people often underestimate it. Bites from mad dogs cause mania and restlessness, with distinct mental abnormalities. The efficacy can be anticipated by observing the patient's state when the moxa cone is first ignited; they should feel their mind clearing. It is also said that symptoms of a mad dog bite manifest every seven days; if no attack occurs during this period, the danger passes, and safety is achieved after one hundred days. Every seven days, one must drink one Sheng of freshly squeezed leek juice. One must absolutely avoid consuming dog meat and silkworm pupae, as ingestion will trigger an attack, which becomes incurable. While the wound is unhealed, raw fish, fatty foods, cold foods, and Malva verticillata (Luokui) are strictly prohibited. Alcohol consumption is forbidden for one year. Other treatments follow specific prescriptions.
