Discourse states: The meaning of "liu" (tumor) refers to stagnation and retention that does not dissipate. If the flow of Qi and Blood remains normal, the body form will be harmonious, without any superfluous growths. However, if there is Qi constraint and obstruction, pathogens take advantage of deficiency and gaps, leading to the formation of tumors. Initially, they appear as small nodules, gradually enlarging like a cup or bowl, neither itching nor painful, nor becoming hard and rigid. This describes the treatment of tumor swelling and stuffiness by formulas.
