Commentary states: The *Huangdi Zhenjing* (Yellow Emperor's Classic of Acupuncture) points out that the intestines and stomach are mutually connected, and diseases are interrelated. If a person fails to regulate their diet properly or maintains an inappropriate balance of cold and heat, pathogenic factors may invade the intestines and stomach. When both cold and heat syndromes are present simultaneously, symptoms such as excessive hunger and pain with distension in the lower abdomen occur. This condition is termed "Stomach Heat and Intestinal Cold" (Wei Re Chang Han). Stomach heat accelerates digestion, leading to excessive hunger; intestinal cold causes blood stasis and tension in the meridians, resulting in lower abdominal pain. Furthermore, cold pathogens cause Qi stagnation, leading to both pain and distension.
