Commentary states: The Spleen is located in the central region of the body (Middle Jiao), primarily responsible for rotting and ripening food and fluids, and nourishing the other Zang-Fu organs. If the Spleen Qi is deficient, cold pathogenic factors clash with healthy Qi, causing hollow rumbling noises within the abdomen (Xu Ming). In severe cases, this leads to abdominal pain and diarrhea, with an inability to digest food. As stated in the *Nei Jing* ("Sudden sounds resemble thunder"), this occurs due to the clashing of Yin and Yang Qi, resulting from a conflict between cold and heat.
