Discourse states: When the internal organs are deficient, cold pathogenic factors invade and clash with the healthy qi (Zheng Qi), causing pain. Additionally, accumulated cold that fails to dissipate leads to abdominal pain that fluctuates in intensity. For chronic abdominal pain, if exposed to further cold, it results in borborygmus (intestinal rumbling) and diarrhea. This is because the abdomen is the residence of extreme Yin, where Yin pathogens lodge and contend.
