Commentary states: Water nature is moistening and flows downward, while Yang Qi ascends with it; thus, body fluids (Jin-Ye) are mutually generated, and the Spirit (Shen) naturally arises. Now, the Kidney resides in the Lower Jiao (Lower Burner), and the Bladder serves as its exterior counterpart. The Bladder is the mansion of body fluids. If a person suffers from labor-induced injury, causing a severance and blockage between Yin and Yang, preventing their normal ascending and descending movements, it results in deficiency-cold in the Lower Jiao and heat generation in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner). When heat prevails, water cannot control fire, leading to the depletion of body fluids, thereby causing symptoms of dry mouth and tongue.
