徐徐抱解其绳，不得断之，悬其发令足去地五寸许，塞两鼻孔，以芦管纳其口中至咽，

上以梁上尘如豆大，各纳一筒中，四人各一筒，同时吹两耳鼻中，极力吹之，即活。
治自缢死，救之未活，以车载之，法
上以绢急绞身体令坚，以牛车载行三十里许，使人于车上行，踏肩引发如前。
治自缢心微温者，急救之方
上以 衣，若氍 浓毡物，覆其口鼻抑之，令两人极力吹其两耳，一炊顷可活也。
Slowly untie the rope, do not cut it. Suspend the person by their hair so that the feet are approximately five *cun* above the ground. Block both nostrils, insert a reed tube into the mouth down to the pharynx, and have someone blow air into it. After a while, if rumbling sounds are heard in the abdomen, this indicates that Qi (vital energy) has become unobstructed. If the patient raises their hands and grasps at people, hold them firmly, and take turns blowing into the tube. If the patient revives and is able to speak, they may then be laid down. If suspension by hair is not possible, divide the hair, wrap it around the hands, and pull.
For treating cases of hanging where the heart remains slightly warm:
Blow a mixture of powdered *Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus* (Tiao-Jiao, 皂荚) and scallion leaves into both nostrils, allowing the discharge to exit and then re-enter.
Emergency rescue method for hanging:
Quickly cover the mouth and nose with your hands to prevent any loss of internal Qi. After approximately two *shi* (four hours), when Qi returns, the person will revive.

Lift the hair, block the ears with an object, and use a scallion leaf to stimulate the nasal cavity. Two people should blow forcefully. Biting the heels can also induce revival. Alternatively, blocking the nose and blowing into the mouth can also result in revival.
Prescription for treating hanging:
Pour indigo juice into the body. One must remain calm and slowly relieve tension; strictly avoid cutting the rope or carrying the body immediately. If the area below the heart is still warm, prick the rooster's comb for blood and drip it into the mouth. Use a hen for male patients and a rooster for female patients.

Lift the hair until the feet just touch the ground. After about one *shi* (two hours), the person will revive.
Pine nut oil prescription for treating hanging:
Place pine nut oil in the mouth, allowing it to enter the pharynx, which leads to revival.

Mix a date-sized amount of *Galli Stercus Album* (Chicken droppings' white part, 鸡屎白) with half a cup of wine, and administer into the mouth and nose, resulting in immediate revival.
Emergency rescue prescription for treating hanging:
Take roof dust the size of a bean, place each portion into separate tubes. Four people each hold one tube and blow forcefully into the ears and nose simultaneously, leading to immediate revival.
Method for transporting via cart when hanging victims have not yet revived:
Tightly bind the body with silk cloth to make it firm. Transport using an ox cart for approximately thirty *li*. Have someone walk on the cart, stepping on the shoulders to stimulate respiration as described previously.
Emergency rescue prescription for treating hanging with slight warmth in the heart region:
Cover the mouth and nose with thick woolen felt or similar material and apply pressure. Two people should blow forcefully into the ears. Revival can occur within the time it takes to cook a meal.
