Discussion: The cause of sudden swelling and pain in the yin hernia (Yin Han) is deficiency of Kidney Qi, combined with a sudden invasion of pathogenic factors that transmit into the yin region. The struggle between cold and heat pathogens results in sudden pain. If the pain is severe, the pathogen prevails; when the pathogen prevails, heat dominates; when heat dominates, swelling occurs. All these manifestations arise suddenly.
