Discussion states: Huoluan (cholera-like syndrome with vomiting and diarrhea) with rebellious fullness, although fundamentally rooted in the indigestion of food, may also be caused by the accumulation of phlegm-fluids, leading to Qi stagnation, distension, and rebellious upward movement that fails to descend. The manifestations include stifling obstruction in the chest and diaphragm, support-like fullness in the hypochondrium, inability to vomit despite the urge, or continuous vomiting. The treatment principle is to facilitate the ascending and descending of Qi, after which the condition will resolve.
