Discussion: The presentation of Hong Kong Jiao Chong Xin (Hong Kong Foot Rushing to the Heart) involves chest and diaphragm fullness and oppression, upward rushing of Qi with rapid breathing, and in severe cases, vomiting. This is caused by Wind-Dampness Toxic Qi. Initially arising from the feet, if left untreated, it enters the abdomen, causing numbness and insensitivity in the lower abdomen. The toxic Qi rushes upward, representing Kidney Water overcoming Heart Fire, hence named Hong Kong Jiao Chong Xin. Sun Simiao stated that whenever one feels symptoms are abnormal, one must be extremely vigilant and resolve to treat it urgently. One cannot generally take swelling as the only sign; there are cases without swelling, which refers to this condition.
