治风，破气，腹冷气痛，去风冷痹弱，疗下气，冷逆冲心，腹痛吐泻。日华子云∶治转
痢，反胃呕食，解酒毒，消宿食。古方∶单用治忽心中恶，口吐清水。取根如骰子块，
咽津瘥，若臭，加草豆蔻煎饮。
味辛，平，无毒。主诸 ，霍乱及蛇伤。《药性论》云∶可单用，味苦辛。和诸
香。破一切臭气，又猝恶心腹中不安，取茎叶煮食之即瘥。日华子云∶得酒，良。
气并肾劳 疝气，开胃下食，治膀胱痛，阴疼。古方∶疗恶毒痈肿。一云∶有助
味辛苦，平、温，无毒。主风寒温疟、热气诸痫，除邪，利大小便，疗水肿、风肿，
膀胱热，伤寒寒热邪气，中风手脚挛急，止泄，散痈肿，恶结，诸蜗疥癣虫疮，通腠理，
九窍。《药性论》云∶汉防己，君。味苦，有小毒。能治湿风口眼 斜、手足疼，散留痰，
主肺气嗽喘。木防己∶使。畏∶女菀、卤咸，味辛苦。治男子肢节中风，毒风不语，主散
结气，痈肿，温疟，风水肿，治膀胱。殷孽为之使。杀∶雄黄毒。恶∶细辛。畏∶萆 。
味苦，平，无毒。主老癖症瘕结块。日华子云∶味甘涩。治妇人血脉不调，心腹痛
，落胎，消瘀血，产后腹痛，血晕并宿血不下。《外台秘要》∶下乳汁。取三个，水二碗，
煎取一碗，洗奶取汁为度，极妙。《子母秘录》∶治小儿气癖及痫热，无辜 癖等。

Nature: Greatly warm. Indications: Mainly treats sudden cold, cold rebellion in the stomach, cholera with abdominal pain. *Yao Xing Lun* states: It can treat long-standing cold in the abdomen, rebellious stomach qi, and vomiting. Treats wind pathogens, breaks up stagnant qi, treats cold qi pain in the abdomen, expels wind-cold causing bi-syndrome and weakness, regulates descending qi, treats cold qi rushing to the heart, abdominal pain with vomiting and diarrhea. Ri Huazi states: Treats tetanic dysentery (Zhuanli), regurgitation and vomiting of food, resolves alcohol toxicity, eliminates retained food. Flavor: Bitter-pungent, neutral-warm, non-toxic. Indications: Treats wind-cold warm malaria, heat qi causing various epilepsy syndromes, expels evil pathogens, benefits large and small intestines, treats edema, wind swelling, bladder heat, shanghan chills and fever pathogens, stroke causing limb spasms and stiffness, stops diarrhea, dissipates carbuncles and swellings, evil accumulations, various scabies, tinea, insect sores, unblocks interstices, opens the nine orifices. *Yao Xing Lun* states: Han Fangji is the sovereign herb. Flavor bitter, slightly toxic. Can treat wind-stroke due to dampness causing deviation of mouth and eyes, hand and foot pain, dissipates retained phlegm, mainly treats lung qi cough and asthma. Mu Fangji is the assistant herb. Incompatibilities: Nvwan, Lu Xian, flavor bitter-pungent. Flavor: Bitter, neutral, non-toxic. Indications: Treats old pi masses, zhijia, and nodular accumulations. Ri Huazi states: Flavor sweet-astringent. Treats women's blood vessel irregularities, heart and abdominal pain, induces abortion, eliminates blood stasis, postpartum abdominal pain, blood vertigo, and retained lochia not descending. *Waitai Miyao* states: Promotes lactation.
