A prescription for treating sudden wind-stroke in children with malignant toxicity, as well as chronic wind-stroke causing opisthotonos (body arched backward like a bow) and immobility of the four limbs, or dragging paralysis and inability to walk.
Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin) [each 1 liang]; Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Puerariae Radix (Gegen), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Angelicae Pubescentis Radix (Duohuo) [each 18 zhu]; Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao) [each 0.5 liang]; Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren) [20 seeds].

For a three-year-old child, divide into four doses and administer within one day. Aim for slight sweating; after sweating, apply powder to the skin.

A decoction for treating infantile wind-stroke with symptoms resembling impending death:
Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Ostrea Concha (Muli), Longgu, Trichosanthis Radix (Gualougen), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin) [each 12 zhu]; Halloysit Rubrum (Chishizhi), Hydrargyri Oxydum Rubrum (Hanshuishi) [each 6 zhu].
The above eight ingredients are coarsely crushed. Add the herbs weighing half a liang to one sheng of water. Boil twice, strain to remove dregs.
