Formula for treating Taiyang disease or wind-stroke where the physician erroneously used purgation, resulting in diarrhea dozens of times a day, undigested food, borborygmus, fullness and hardness below the heart, dry vomiting, and irritability preventing rest. When the physician saw the fullness below the heart and assumed the pathogen remained, they purged again, worsening the fullness. This is not heat accumulation but rather deficiency in the Stomach causing rebellious Qi to ascend. The appropriate formula is:
Gancao (4 Liang) [Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma]
Huangqin (2 Liang each) [Scutellariae Radix]
Ganjiang (2 Liang each) [Zingiberis Rhizoma]

For Taiyang disease with a floating pulse, fever, and absence of sweating, indicating unresolved exterior syndrome, Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) is contraindicated.
For thirst with desire to drink water without exterior syndrome, Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) is suitable.
