Formula for treating wrist fracture and blood stasis:
Tao Ren (40 seeds) [Prunus persica Seed], Luan Fa [Capilli Humanis Carbonisatus] (one handful), Da Huang [Rhei Radix et Rhizoma] (one piece the size of a finger joint).
The above three ingredients: wrap the Luan Fa in a cloth four cun wide and burn it to ash. Coarsely crush Tao Ren and Da Huang. Decoct with 3 sheng of wine until reduced to 1 sheng, and take in one dose to expel all blood. (The *Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang* records: Zhang Zhongjing's formula for treating horse falls and all kinds of bone and tendon injuries uses Da Huang 3 liang, Fei Bo [Silk Carbonisatus] the size of a hand burned to ash, Luan Fa the size of an egg burned to ash, used cooking cloth chi 1 burned to ash, Tao Ren 49 seeds peeled and roasted, Bai Pu Xi [Typhae Caulis] one handful cut into 3-cun pieces, Gan Cao one piece the size of a middle finger. The above seven herbs are decocted with an appropriate amount of urine from a young boy. Finally, add one large cup of wine, then add Da Huang. Strain and divide into three warm doses. Additionally, decoct half a lead of Bai Pu Xi for bathing. Cover heavily with clothes and bedding. After taking the medicine, there will be several bowel movements shortly, and pain will immediately subside. Do not be surprised if excrement and bathwater turn red; this is blood stasis.)
