Formula for treating acute water toxicity in humans, characterized by coldness of the fingertips and toes, extending up to the elbows and knees.
Evodiae Fructus (Wuzhuyu) [1 sheng], Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang), sliced [1.5 sheng], Cornu Rhinocerotis (Xijiao), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Jupi) [each 2 liang], Mume Fructus (Wumei) [14 pieces].
The above six ingredients, are crushed, boiled in 7 sheng of water to obtain 2 sheng of decoction, divided into two doses.
Another formula: Dry the floating fern (Fupingcao) and powder it; take one cunbi with wine.
Another formula: Crush the leaves of plum (Meiyè) and peach (Taoyè), wring out about 3 sheng of juice; or use dried leaves with a small amount of water to wring out juice for drinking. For children who cannot drink, apply the juice to the nipple for them to suck.
Another formula: Crush cocklebur (Canger) to extract juice, take 1 sheng; also wrap a stick in cotton, dip it in the juice, and insert it into the lower orifice (anus or vagina), three times a day until cured.
Another formula: Crush a handful of smartweed (Liaocao), mix with wine, wring out 1 sheng of juice and drink it; it will cure within no more than three doses. (Note: *Waitai Mi Yao* and *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* record this as pear leaf).
Another formula: Crush a handful of salt, dissolve in water, and wash/apply to the face and entire body thoroughly.
Another formula: Crush the root of *Duchesnea indica* (Shemei) into powder, take with water, and insert into the lower orifice; use fresh juice. Abrus precatorius seed (Xiangsizi), Ricinus communis seed (Bimazi), Crotonis Semen (Badou) [each 1 piece], Cinnabar powder (Zhusha Mo) [2 zhu], Wax (La) [4 zhu].
The above five ingredients are combined and pounded into pills. First, hold a pill the size of a hemp seed in the mouth, then surround the patient with ashes. Place a bucket of burning ashes in front, spit the pill into the fire so it boils, then draw a cross on the fire; the "Cat Ghost" and all evils will be eliminated.

Push back into place, suture finely using mulberry bark thread, cut open a black hen to take the liver, chop finely and apply as a dressing; refrain from urinating temporarily for recovery.
Formula for treating dog/horse bites, bone splinters from horses injuring people, and horse blood entering old wounds:

Formula for treating horse blood entering a wound:
Take human feces the size of a chicken egg and ingest it; also apply feces to the wound.
Another formula: Apply menstrual blood from a woman; highly effective.

Another formula: Soak/wash with appropriately hot boiling water; then cured.
Discussion:
In late spring and early summer, dogs often go mad; prevention is essential. If bitten despite prevention, nothing is better than moxibustion. One must not miss a single day for 100 days to avoid disaster. If the wound appears healed and pain stops initially, claiming recovery is most dangerous; great calamity is imminent, and death may come at dawn or dusk. After being bitten by a rabid dog, madness ensues, and the spirit changes. How to know? Observe during moxibustion: after one application of fire, one feels suddenly clear-minded. This confirms rabies has set in. This disease is extremely serious, yet the world neglects it. Many die because of this negligence. When I first studied medicine, someone asked me about this, and I did not know how to respond; several died under my watch. Since then, I dedicated myself to study. Since understanding this, all treated patients recovered. Thus, I realize half the deaths in the world are due to lack of good doctors; this is not false. Future students must not only learn this method but ponder all other formulas carefully, study diligently, and achieve mastery. Do not think you know everything just because you understand a few methods; this leads to great error.
For dog bites, symptoms should appear every seven days. If they do not appear after 21 days (3 x 7), the danger passes. One must pass 100 days to be safe. Every seven days, crush and drink 1-2 sheng of Chinese chive juice. Lifelong abstinence from dog meat and silkworm pupae is required; consuming these triggers recurrence, which is fatal. During the healing period, avoid raw fish and greasy/cold foods. Only steamed fish with rice or food from greasy vessels might trigger it. Avoid alcohol; recovery is best if one survives a year. (*Ji Yan Fang* states: for severe recurrences, eat raw toad; highly effective. Can also roast and eat; do not tell the patient. Doing this immediately after the bite prevents later recurrence).
Formula for treating dog venom:
Human hair and human skin (equal parts).
Burn the above two ingredients to ash, mix with water, and drink one cup. For lockjaw, pry teeth open to administer medicine.
Another formula: Crush Sanguisorba officinalis root (Diyu), wring out juice to apply to the wound. If fresh is unavailable, use dried, boil in water to drink, or powder and take one cunbi three times a day, plus topical application, for over 100 days.
Another formula: Crush Chinese chive, wring out juice, drink 1 sheng, three times a day; stop when wound heals. Also treats post-healing recurrence.
Another formula: Scrape tiger tooth or bone, take one cunbi. (*Duan Ju Fang* states: scrape wild wolf tooth or tiger bone powder; effective for those already mad like dogs).
Another formula: Burn tiger bone to apply to wound and moxa. Lightly roast almonds, pound, extract juice, and drink; effective. Also pour residual lamp oil into the wound; abstain from alcohol, pork, beef, mutton, and raw vegetables.
Another formula: Take one handful of Chinese chive root, two old combs, boil in 2 sheng of water to obtain 1 sheng; take in one dose.
Another formula: Take one handful of the white bark from the southeast branch of a peach tree, boil in 2 sheng of water to obtain 1 sheng; divide into two doses; expels "dog offspring."
Another formula: Apply dog brain; prevents recurrence.
Another formula: Take toad ash, take with gruel broth.
Another formula: Take seven seeds of Datura metel (Langdangzi), once a day.
Another formula: Powdered plum fruit, take with wine.
Another formula: Apply soybean paste liquor, three to four times a day.

Another formula: Pound Datura root, mix with salt, apply; three times a day.
Another formula: Soak green cloth in water, drink 3 sheng of the juice.
Another formula: Drink 1-2 sheng of donkey urine.
Formula for general dog bites:
Roast 0.5 sheng of almonds until black, grind into paste, and apply.
Another formula: Apply hot ash from the stove to the wound, cover with silk bandage.
Another formula: Powder rat feces, mix with rendered pig fat, and apply. (*Waitai Mi Yao* states: fry one rat in pig fat and apply).
Another formula: Drink 1 sheng of ginger juice. (*Duan Ju Fang* states: treats rabid dog bites). Chive juice is also good. (*Waitai Mi Yao* states: also treats post-healing recurrence).
