(There are twenty-nine formulas and thirty-six moxibustion methods in total.)
Treats sudden wind-stroke approaching death, with the body either flaccid or rigid, deviation of the mouth and eyes, stiff tongue unable to speak, faint and intermittent breathing, and a mental state of confusion and restlessness.
It is effective for all types of wind diseases; it is not an empty formula that deceives people.
Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Rhizoma) [Cui Shi's *Waitai Mi Yao* does not use this], Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Baishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum) [each 1 liang], Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) [1.5 liang], Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) [one piece], Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) [5 liang].
The above twelve ingredients are cut into small pieces. Boil in one dou two sheng of water. First, boil Mahuang for three boils, skim off the foam, then add the remaining herbs. Decoct to obtain three sheng of liquid. Divide into three doses; this is very beneficial. If not cured, prepare three or four more doses, which will surely be better. Induce sweating according to the severity of the wind pathogen and the deficiency or excess of the patient's constitution. Some patients with weakness in the legs were cured after taking six or seven doses. Patients with wind-rash may take this formula when the weather is cloudy or during solar term changes to prevent aphonia. (Another version states: For those with absent-mindedness, add Fushen (Polyporus) and Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix). If there is painful distension in the bone joints, originally Chuanxiong and Xingren are omitted, leaving only ten ingredients. The Yannian formula does not contain Fangfeng.)
Treats wind-stroke with dizziness and confusion, unawareness of pain locations, rigidity preventing turning over, limbs being either flaccid or rigid, and incontinence of stool and urine. This is similar to Daxuming Tang (Large Rescue Life Decoction), but is particularly suitable for postpartum blood loss as well as the elderly and children.
Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) [each 2 liang], Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) [5 liang], Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) [the previous formula uses Xingren], Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Rhizoma), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) [each 1 liang], Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) [1.5 liang].
The above twelve ingredients are cut into small pieces. Boil in one dou two sheng of water. Decoct to obtain three sheng of liquid. Divide into three doses. (*Gu Jin Lu Yan* does not contain Guixin, naming it Xuming Tang; Hu Qia's *Qianjin Yi Fang* is the same.)
Another formula: Treats wind diseases lasting for years, manifesting as singing, crying, or laughing uncontrollably, with speech being uninhibited.
Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba) [3 liang], Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) [each 2 liang], Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) [each 1 liang].
The above ten ingredients are cut into small pieces. Boil in one dou two sheng of water. Decoct to obtain three sheng of liquid. Divide into three doses, taken three times a day. Cover with blankets to induce sweating.
