On the aforementioned days, if the "Ri You" (a deity/shen sha moving through the earthly branches daily) is located outdoors, it is auspicious to give birth indoors; if the "Ri You" is indoors, one must not face its direction during childbirth, as this brings misfortune.
Borrow ten steps eastward, ten steps westward, ten steps southward, ten steps northward, ten steps upward, and ten steps downward.
In the center of the exorcism method, a total space of over forty steps is borrowed. Within this space, the parturient can reside peacefully without hindrance or fear/taboo. All deities protect her, and all ghosts quickly depart. So be it by law.
For the "Shang Jie Fa" (Upper Borrowing Method) and the month of casting, simply write a talisman and paste it on the central north wall of the room where the parturient resides. There is no longer a need to avoid the Ri You, the earthly branch deities, and other gods. This method has proven effective when used frequently, hence it is recorded here.
